A great song, no doubt, but I find it an odd way to end the disk. If indeed the disk from start to finish is her journey, why didn't it just end with "Stephenville, Tx", which seems to sum up her life nicely. - --------------------------------- New Yahoo! I'm only now starting to understand what she's trying to say. I think that Stephenville was saying where is she now in life, and where she's living. But as a celebrity she has to tour, make appearances and crap, so even though she's found home there, she can't stay there as much as she would like. That's why I think Where You Are and 1000 Miles are the last songs, because it's completing the circle of her life as a celebrity, and doing her job, and missing Ty/family/friends/texas... just my thoughts. >From: Cornered Weasel >To: jewel@smoe.org >Subject: [EDA] Last Song on the CD >Date: Tue, 9 May 2006 04:57:49 -0700 (PDT) > >I'm interested in hearing opinions about why you think Jewel selected "1000 >Miles Away" to close her CD. It shows little facts and stuff about the artist while the song is playing, and it said "Jewel dated rodeo star Ty Murray for a number of years." They need to update that they got back together LoL Just gave me a little chuckle. Gina B. I was on the list from like 1998-2000, and then unsubscribed because I couldn't keep up, but I am back again. My Angel name was "Hazy" but I don't know if you'll remember me. But you can call me Bloom from here on out. Anywho, I sold my tape player and then donated all my Angelfood to a member on the list (if it was you let me know you got it!!) I wanted to try to replace what I had with CD versions of the tapes? Is there even such a thing? I can send the money for the cost of the blank CDs. So, it's nice to be back! It almost seems like something is missing at the end. If this is the story of her life why is the last song so sad? I thought that the CD told the story of her life and from the new songs she's happy with herself now. It just dosen't fit, why would she use an older song to show where she is today? I was going to post with the same question but hadn't got around to it yet. I want to know what everyone's opinion is on this! BTW.....LOVING "Goodbye Alice in Wonderland"!!!! It took a little to get used to different tempos and arrangements on the songs that I had heard like a million times, but overall it's a great album. Still can't get used to that surfer dude/malibu beach music on Sattelite though, that was always one of my favorites. I think that "Only One Too" should be her next single. It's very catchy and alot of people will be able to relate to the lyrics. I love it! Oh well, my 2 cents anyways! Okay, I'm sure this sounds weird...but... Everytime I hear Satellite on the new cd, it reminds me of the movie "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitters Dead." You know the movie...Christina Applegate. Everytime I heard the song I can just imagine it being in the movie, because of the music and everything. That's pretty random, right? _________________________________________________________________ Dont just search. Find.
