[Kiera OToole Subject: [EDA] US weekly hi, Jewel was in the newest issue of US weekly w/ denise richards story on the cover (5-15) There's a small article about her and Ty... Jewel and Ty's like-new love SInger Jewel and her rodeo champ boyfriend Ty Murray, have been dating for more than 7 years, but during their April 25 stroll through NYC's central park, an onlooker tells us, they acted more like a giddy new couple. Throughout the entire 30 minute walk, Murray 36, didn't once let go of the singer, 31, whose new album, Goodbye Alice in Wonderland, comes out this month. Says the witness, "He was either holding her hand or had is hand around her waist the whole time!" She was also in last week's issue... there was a picture of her in the front "red carpet" section for "pretty flared frocks." She "wore a chart topping chiffon number by Elsie Katz Couture at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville." hugs*~ mandy ~*"But don't wander too far, my one constant star, darkness exists, except where you are, my feet are filled with wandering, they follow your own, cause everywhere you are feels like home" -jewel kilcher, last dance rodeo*~ ~*"Call me naive, but i believe, your two blue eyes are all i need" jewel, does anyone believe in love anymore*~ - -- ___________________________________________________ Play 100s of games for FREE! http://games.mail.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 05 May 2006 23:14:51 -0700 From: "D R" Subject: [EDA] NJC: license suspention question hmm... nice subject line i guess. anyhow... today i got what would have been my 5th speeding ticket. i know... but i can't help it. seriously.. 55MPH is just WAYYY too slow!! anyhow.. you're only allowed 4 then your license gets suspended. so i was wondering how do i go about getting that taken care of? do i just pay a lot of money and they give it back to me? or do i actually have to wait a certain amount of time? i told the cop i had a driving job and he said that they might give me some sort of temp thing just to let me drive for work but i can't any other time. anyone know any details? Gerrit? i hear you're a crazy driver, lol. please get back to me w/ any information. :P oh... and a tiny Jewel note... irronically "Good Day" was playing at the time i got pulled over. :\ D.R. www.myspace.com/dr_rockerchic ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 06 May 2006 10:32:59 -0700 From: amethyst@endor.org Subject: RE: [EDA] NJC: license suspention question Hey D.R., Sorry but I don't have a lot of experience with speeding tickets. Actually, in California I only got one speed ticket (93mph in a 70mph zone - tho really I was doing 105-110mph) about 4-5 years ago, but the other speeding tickets I got were all for doing exactly 10mph over the speed limit on the freeway in Kansas, New York, and Maryland all in between December '96 and June '97. I'm pretty sure it's up to the judge how they want to handle it. You are most likely screwed, but could get lucky if the judge is nice. If I were you I'd play nice and explain that you are sorry, but that you have to drive for your job and you may want to consider slowing down if they let you keep your license. :P I've always been pretty good about keeping a low profile when driving, not being the fastest one on the road, not weaving in and out too much, and watching out for cops. When I used to drive really fast I always just watched ahead, since cops would never come from behind unless they already saw me. In any case, I don't do that anymore. Hell, now that I live in Albuquerque there is nowhere to drive to anyway.. we're in the middle of the desert, so even if I drive 1/2 the speed limit it still takes a few minutes to get to where I'm going. I've had LOTS of hard drives die in my day. While the power supply is more likely to die than the hard drive, the hard drive is more likely to die than the processor.. unless of course yours is one of those ultra-hot ones and your fan dies and you don't notice. :> It really sucks that the data recovery people charge so much.. it's very rarely worth it. I find that highly unlikely. I think they are taking you for a ride. Is it definitely the hard drive or is it the Fan on the Processor or the power supply that they were talking about. In all my years in IT, I have never come across a 'motor' going in a hard drive. I'm not saying it's impossible but extremely rare. To me anyway. lumkinsc98@aol.com wrote: I took it to a computer store to have it checked, and they said the motor, or something I forget, isn't even working, like it's a physical problem. I have about 6 in my drawer in my office...all duds but that is more down to bad sectors that a 'motor' going. Still think it's odd that 2 hdd's went. sounds like something else has caused the problem. Setting the HDD's as secondary drives should let you know if they have lost everything or not and if you can see info on it, then you can retrieve your lost files.
