Anyway, Pink was on talking about why she wrote the song Stupid Girls and I thought it was so great because I have a 15 year old daughter... Well anyway, I was thinking about it tonight and it seems to me Jewel has been talking about the same message for years -- the image that women put out there on videos and other media, everything from Elimidate to Racecar Driver and God's Gift to Women, how being sexy and smart at the same time is POSSIBLE even though you'd never know it given what we see everyday, etc..... AND her Intuition video had basically the same message as Pink's, without the same kind of hype Stupid Girls is getting (at least in terms of message). Pink's isn't as subtle about getting the message across, while Jewel pretty much had to explain Intuition -- which I'm sure is why. But anyway, I just thought it was interesting. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Apr 2006 16:41:14 -0400 From: MrBB Subject: [EDA] what time was Jewel & Ty on The CMTs last night? Hi all, Did any of you watch the CMT Awards last night? If so, can you tell me approximately what time Jewel and Ty presented? Just trying to avoid sifting through three hours to edit out that little sequence for the archive. Any replies appreciated. As a matter of Fact i watched the show I was really Pissed that Carrie Underwood beat out Miranda Lambert in 2 categories. Miranda at least writes her own sh*t. Anyway Brad and Dolly did win most Inspirational Video with "When I get where I'm going" and I really like that song. Gretchen Wilson's Performance of "All Jacked up" was really goood she had alot of energery. As for Jewel she was on during the pre-show which i doubt they will re-brodcast that but then her and ty were on for like not even 10seconds to introduce Kenny Chesney. That happened in I would say about the last half hour of the show because right after that Kenny Rogers or someone came out to present the Video of the year award which im not sure but I think Toby Keith may of won that.
