Standing in the back of Java Joe's that night, I saw dozens of people even mistake Tara for Jewel for a few minutes! Dozens of people came off the street to crowd the open door, and more than one or two were saying "it must be Jewel inside Joe's". The other local musicians watching from the back had lots of good things to say about Tara's voice, too. Later, of course, the REAL Jewel popped in to pour a few coffees and sing for the EveryDay Angel Foundation's launch. The next morning, I woke up under the coffee bar in my PJs, rolling over to face Igor sitting with an empty bottle of Jack Daniels. That's entirely another story, however. And one with implications. Hmmm, that was eight years ago next month, so the statute of limitations may have run out... Harris. Trust me. For those of you in the southern California area, here's a last minute reminder that a Project Warmth show, sponsored by the EveryDay Angels Foundation, will be held Saturday night in Encinitas, CA as part of national Make a Difference Day! Last year's show was one of the most incredible EDA musical events I have seen on this list... Eve Selis, Mary Dolan, Patti Zlaket and Peggy Lebo return to play for coat and blanket donations to the Interfaith Shelter Network and The Storefront (which helps runaway teenagers). Information on the show is pasted below: October 22, 2005: Encinitas, CA at the Seaside Church, 7:30. On National Make A Difference Day, the Queen of Roadhouse Rock, Eve Selis, her stellar band, and good friends Mary Dolan, Peggy Lebo and Patti Zlaket will again grace the stage. Beneficiaries of the event will be the Interfaith Shelter Network and the San Diego Storefront teen shelter. Donations of canned pet food and towels will go to the Helen Woodward Animal Center which is working with the St. Francis Animal Sanctuary of Louisiana and also for their AniMeals program which distributes pet food to seniors' pets via Meals On Wheels. Seaside Church Auditorium, 1613 Lake Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024. Admission is $5 plus a blanket, warm clothing, canned pet food or towel donation, $10 without donation. Contact Anita York at adylinc@juno.com for further details. If there is anyway you can get to the show, I highly recommend it. Being in the Boston area tomorrow, I have a legitimate excuse for missing it. You SoCal EDAs, NOT! Seriously, it will be a great time. Harris. Trust me.
