Christel ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Jul 2005 13:59:39 -0500 From: "Matt Sullivan" Subject: [EDA] Milwaukee Review Setlist : (in some-what of an order) Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Near You Always, Studies In Love, Down So Long, Stand, Life Uncommon, Hands, Break Me, Morning Song, *Introduced as it's live debut*: Words Get In The Way, Goodbye Alice In Wonderland, Stephenville, You Were Meant For Me, Standing Still, Foolish Games, Milwaukee Ditty, Who Will Save You're Soul. Encores: Everything Reminds Me of You (with Joe), Q&A, Chime Bells Jewel looked lovely in a white dress and heals for her capicity crowd last night at the Pabst Theatre. I was in row A, almost dead center, but techinally row 4 I guess cause they had the orchestra pit opened up. After a brief set by Joe, she took the stage. After a few songs she took a poll as to who had seen her before and who this was a first time for. She then felt obligated to explain, for the new-comers, that those infact were not her new eyelashes...they were left from a photo shoot a few days earlier, so if one fell off during the show we were to tell her. An audience requested Studies in Love, and she remembered the words a few lines in. Life Uncommon was requested as "Songs of Freedom" but she knew what the person meant. Morning Song was also done by request, and Stand and Break me finally made their way into a Milwaukee setlist. Goodbye Alice was introduced as where she was in her life right now. She then asked if we wanted to hear a new song that she had just written, and gave no title, so I'm calling it Words Get In the Way. Upbeat, fun song. We got the Mexico drug bust story before YWMFM, and a brief story before WWSYS. Oh!! We also got a one minute song about Milwaukee! She complimented the Lake, how Joe got drunk here the night before, and which cheeses she prefers. Before Everything Reminds Me of You her and Joe had a lil chat on stage, and then she did a Q&A. Someone asked "Are you still in love with music like you were before". She replied yes and elaborated, and some guy yelled out "It's about time!" but I don't think she heard him. (During Intuition the words changed to "did I sell out or could you get more?" Hopefully he caught that part:) Anyways, I've seen her solo 3 times now and this was the best time. Her voice was flawless. Played flawless. She told us she had a lot of fun with us so hopefully she'll be back soon. I had a disposable camera, but once we got in it didn't work for some reason. I know they were checking for cameras, but if anyone got pics on their cell phone or with a real camera can you let me know? I got a few crappy ones from my phone...real crappy lol!!! matt _________________________________________________________________ Dont just search. Find. Sounds like you had a great time. So, I was wondering how Joe sounded. I don't know if you're a fan of his (I'm a huge Joe fan), but was just curious to how he did that night, as well. That goes for anybody that's getting to go to the upcoming Jewel/Joe shows. I'm not going to get to go to any this time around, unfortunately and would love to know how they both do in their concerts this month. Thanks, Jessica Matt Sullivan wrote: Setlist : (in some-what of an order) Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Near You Always, Studies In Love, Down So Long, Stand, Life Uncommon, Hands, Break Me, Morning Song, *Introduced as it's live debut*: Words Get In The Way, Goodbye Alice In Wonderland, Stephenville, You Were Meant For Me, Standing Still, Foolish Games, Milwaukee Ditty, Who Will Save You're Soul.
