I didn't write a setlist, so this is all from memory (which isn't very good). Jewel opened with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and then took requests. I recognized all but one or two of her songs, the new one that stands out in my mind is about being 30 (written last year) and living in Stevensville. Here are some of the songs I can remember: The New Wild West Who Will Save Your Soul Little Sister You Were Meant for Me (with Steve Poltz) I Thought I Saw You Last Night (with Steve Poltz) Hands Intuition Chime Bells There were two highlights of the show for me. First was when some audience members near me told an annoying lady who kept yelling during the songs to STFU. Second was Poltz taking the stage, I wasn't expecting that. He sang two songs with Jewel and one song by himself. Another highlight was seeing Larry again. He was almost as big a star as Jewel, I had to wait in line to say 'hi' to him! On my drive down to San Diego, I passed the Del Mar Fair. That was the second or third place I ever saw Jewel and the first time I met any EDA's. If my memory is right, that's where I met Gerritt as well as Tom and Nancy (haven't seen them in ages!). We were also looking around for Igor, but it wasn't until a Rugburns show at the Bellyup that I met him. Anyway, it's hard to believe I've been following Jewel for a decade now! And more importantly, it's nice to think about all the great people I met along the way. And Dennis Harris, too. I hope I run into some more EDA's tonight and at the show in Thousand Oaks this tuesday. Later, Sinjin ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V10 #143 ****************************
