Sprawl Magazine: Singer/Songwriters, such as yourself, always seem to find themselves guesting on someone else's set or having someone guest with them on their set. Who would you say is the person you've created the most creative moments with? Why? John: I don't know, I mean I really haven't done a lot of that. I've been doing a little writing with Jewel, which is fun. Maybe me and her will go out and do some stuff together. I just enjoy listening to my musicians and my band, you know? There's been kind of a rotating bench of musicians for Five for Fighting and it's been fun to see the new guys come in and do their thing. But maybe down the road? Well, you know, obviously with Concert for New York, I got to sing with (James) Taylor and Billy Joel and (Pete) Townsend and McCartney. After that, it's like, what more can you ask for? It's all down hill after that. So I've had the ultimate dream experience singing with all of my inspirations and idols and influences. Hmmm. Wonder what they'll come up with. You all know the name -- or should, at least -- even if you've never been there. I was fortunate enough to make it out to SD at the end of 2003 & got to see the Rugburns play there in their "warmup" show before the infamous NYE gig. In the days of Jewel, it was a coffeehouse, but the most recent version is a pub. So...for anyone in the San Diego area who might not have heard already, there's going to be one last shindig tomorrow night. Here's the info: ONE MORE SHOW BEFORE WE CLOSE THE DOORS THIS TUESDAY FEBRUARY 15TH 8PM GREGORY PAGE C.D.
