Subject: [EDA] JewelStock II -- How to get her to come...

1) Call Jewel's accounts, and ask what the going rate for 3-4 hours of 
Jewel's time is (including union stage hands, and whatever production costs it 
incurs). Hey, it worked for Michael Dell!

2) Line up a dozen folks willing to put hard cash on the line to cover the 
full amount (in advance).

3) Get a contract with Ms. Kilcher, properly reviewed by an attorney.

4) Pay the full amount upfront in a certified cashier's check to Jewel's 
accountants.

5) Promote the hell out of the event, and make sure you recover at least 110% 
of the monies you spent for the artist fee, venue fee, insurances and 
promotion costs.

6) Contract the performer to do an hour's meet-and-greet with the attendees. 
Include a professional photographer shooting 5x7's of anyone interested in 
obtaining a staged photgraph of theirselves smiling with Jewel (charge $15 for 
each print to cover the expense, and an appropriate kick-back forJewel).

7) Spend lots of time with fellow attendees and find the REAL VALUE of the 
event. I recommend a barbeque, and a long weekend... and don't be afraid to hide 
in a shower to surprise anyone!

Just my humble (informed) opinion, mind you.
