I'm in tears watching the news. Australians can donate wherever they bank, or contact World Vision: 13 32 40, Australian Red Cross: 1800 811 700 (www.redcross.org.au), CARE Australia: 1800 024 413, and of course many other charities. Please do what you can; these people have nothing. Best wishes to you all on New Years Eve. ~Ange. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 Dec 2004 07:45:52 +0000 From: porkch0p31@comcast.net Subject: Re: [EDA] First post in a while... I agree. Atlantic is in too far to just drop Jewel. If Jewel is committed for one more album, then most likely it will be released. If there were some problems with the album, it would get fixed/changed and the release would happen. Atlantic has invested too much to just drop the album. Besides, they want to cling onto as much money as they can before Jewel is not financially obligated to them anymore. And Steve is right. Jewel is definately one of those artists who could release an album with minimal marketing and still sell a decent amount. Happy Holidays everyone! I used to work as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and I can tell you if you plan to donate for Tsunami victims send money. Other items though well intended bog down the system by taking up room on aircraft better suited for people and often end up being send to the wrong places. Sending money on the other hand, helps quite a bit. It allows those giving assistance to buy the supplies they need and helps with the cost of getting them where theyre needed most. I do find myself thinking how insignificant my problems are compared to what's going on over there with the devastation. Then two seconds later I'm back wallowing in my own problems and have to keep constantly reminding myself that my life is a paradise compared to that! Thanks for reminding us all again. I am definitely going to send whatever I can afford. Uri, I do hope we get this Florida EDA gathering going because I would love to see you again!
