I have been on and off this list in various forms for roughly the past 7-8 years. Came on soon after Jewelstock and the first Living Room Tour dates on the West Cost. I am sad I missed that experience, but that is ok. One thing I can say is that our wonderful friend has helped me through some trying times while I have been sent to the sandbox, and will continue to help when I go again... I miss everyone who I haven't seen or heard from in awhile. But I get in touch every once in awhile... Dan, well known for beingthe second(or third) host of the birthday list... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Nov 2004 22:38:46 EST From: Harrisbros@aol.com Subject: [EDA] NJC: Saturday, Nov 6th Boston Project Warmth Show! *** Mat asked: >Let's see... I've been an EDA for almost ten years. >Wow... I can't believe it's been that long! Just since 1996 for me (guess I'm an eight year newbie of sorts)... Hey, my mind is slipping beyond the rumored boundaries of Harrisdom!!! Here's a rather late reminder: On Saturday, November 6th the EveryDay Angels Foundation is co-sponsoring a benefit concert at the Boston Hard Rock Cafe for homeless in the area. The event runs from 5 PM to 11:30 PM in the downstairs Cavern Room, and features six diverse New England acts, including Chris Thompson, Pony, The Scissormen, Mike Asquino, The Adam Ezra Band and Similar Jones. Admission is a warm blanket or article of clothing (or $5 minimum donation) per band, or $15 minimum donation/$10 with blanket for the entire show... The show benfits the Mass Coalition for the Homeless, Cradles to Crayons, New Song Art Center and the EDAF. If you're in the New England area, come out to the show. I'll be checking email until noon if anyone wants to volunteer to help with the event, or just wants to come out and have a great time. This is the fourth show we've had in the past month (New York, Encinitas, CA, Iowa and Boston), and we are thrilled by the number of people turning out. The lack of Jewel list EDAs has been disappointing, however. We've had Alan (Mr. BB), myself and Amy at three of the four shows. To my knowledge, NO OTHER JEWEL LIST EDA SUPPORTED THOSE PROJECT WARMTH SHOWS. Guys, the EveryDay Angels Foundation was established by members of this list to make a difference. Just because the list has shrunk, and Jewel is personally far less vocal about making a difference, doesn't mean we have to abandon that approach. I'd like to see more "Jewel EDAs" getting involved. On a more positive note, we do have some list members working on future projects and we've met some incredible EveryDay Angels, both performing and supporting these events. I hope to meet some new list EDAs at the Boston show, and see some of the "old guard" there as well. Please come up and talk to me if you do attend the show. It should be a great time... Harris. Trust me (tm). ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V9 #303 ***************************
