Rather than bringing back the CDs, take a trip to the store (wal-mart, futureshop, etc.,) and picking up a scratch repair kit. I got one in wal-mart for about 7 bucks. Its called Fellowes CD/DVD Scratch Repair Kit. It comes in a double-sized cd case and contains packets of liquid stuff and clothes you rub into the scratch. It works wonders for me. Its made my old cds play like-new again, no skipping. I had a playstation 2 game (DVD media) that was badly scratched to the point it wouldn't play, but now it works perfectly. I also bought a used ps2 game that had a million scratches, which the kit made dissapear. I highly recommend it, its a huge money and time saver. Sadly, there were no EDA's present except for me, Adrian, and Mr. BB as well as ex-EDA Dan Stark. Before the show, the West Bank Cafe kindly offered to serve a meal for 10 of us downstairs in the venue so the above-mentioned EDA's and I plus Allison Crowe, her boyfriend and a few others had the most delicious meal in our own private dining room. I highly highly recommend the West Bank for anyone looking for a great and decent priced meal near Times Square. They get fully booked pre-theatre, though, so make reservations. And you're likely to be rubbing elbows with cast members and producers from the Sopranos as well as other famous people who frequent the place. But back to the show...Allison has such a powerful voice when she's live. The audience absolutely adored her. She was also sweet, funny, and talkative - very much like Jewel in the old days (not that Jewel isn't those things anymore, its just that sort of innocent quality that she's missing now imo). We collected about 6 garbage bags and 5 shopping bags worth of coats and blankets and after the show 7 of us hauled the goods over to Covenant House which was, thankfully, only 2 blocks away. It was a really great night and I'm thankful to Adrian and Allison for putting it all together and sharing it with us. As for me, tomorrow I'm headed out to SoCal with Dennis Harris for next week's Encinitas Project Warmth show which features Eve Selis, Peggy Lebo, Patty Zlaket, and Mary Dolan. Looking forward to seeing Larry, Jason V. and any other EDA's who want to pop their heads up to say hello. Don't be like the lame-O New York EDA's were! Come out and have some fun!! :-P Amy N. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 2004 11:31:42 EDT From: W1GGY2@aol.com Subject: [EDA] NJC: Repost of upcoming Project Warmth show in San Diego... October 23 (National Make A Difference Day), Encinitas, CA Eve Selis and Friends at the Seaside Church, 8:00pm 1613 Lake Drive Encinitas, CA 92024 San Diego based singer Eve Selis takes the stage on October 23 in support of National Make A Difference Day and the EveryDay Angels Foundation's Project Warmth. A gifted songwriter and electrifying performer, Selis was most recently awarded the 2004 Jim Croce Music Award for Excellence and Dedication to Music. Her voice is regularly lauded by critics as nothing short of a masterpiece: passionate, melodic, raspy and sweet, with a phenomenal range rarely heard in pop music. She will be joined by her friends, multi-talented singer-songwriters Mary Dolan and Patti Zlaket along with opening act Peggy Lebo who sings with a rich, natural grace that wraps readily around heartfelt songs of personal transformation.
