That reminds me of the "Young Frankenstein" exchange between Gene Wilder and Marty Feldman: "Werewolf?" "There." "What?" "There, wolf. There, castle." "Why are you talking that way?" "I thought you want me to." "No, I don't want you to." "Suit yourself. I'm easy." (That said, I think its time you explained your duck fetish again, Mikey.) ;-) - -- Harris ("Put. The. Candle. For those of you who don't know, plywood cow posts are VERY much a part of Jewel history. She taught Roseanne Barr how to team rope one on national TV, toured with one for a period of time, and got Alan addicted to roping plywood animals on that same tour. Woody is the king of all plywood cows. He toured the country for over a year, appearing at MTV studios, Times Square, the Boston Commons, southern California, several Austin public appearances and Bourbon Street. He attended Wood(y)stock and of course, numerous EDA gatherings. Now retired, Woody is technically in his second career, available for stud service. (He jokingly points out that he is outstanding in his field.) Since the endorsement deal for Viagra fell through (he has a great name, but no one could film the commercial with a straight face), Woody has been somewhat despondent and makes no public appearances. Besides being too cute for his own good, his status as a plywood "cow" technically conflicts with his contractual gender. The only Hollywood offers left on the table were, well, let's say they were a bit too "blue" for our tastes (and I'm not talking about him playing Babe, the Blue Ox in the upcoming Peter Jackson "Paul Bunyan" three part epic). Does anyone know if Jewel dumped her plywood animals along with her old management group, or are they simply out to pasture in that one-horse Texas town she lives in now? (I mean the plywood animals, not her old management group.) And remember, Alan: friends don't let friends rope plywood animals! Harris, still working on that plywood Trojan badger... (I know Mike -- we don't need no stinking badgers!) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Sep 2004 11:28:36 -0700 (PDT) From: Slippy 4Pres Subject: [EDA] "Lost Album" I forget the year, but at the time I had heard that Jewel recorded an album but wasn't satisfied with how it came out, so she shelved it. Anyone know what songs may have surfaced from those sessions? If you are referring to the Bearsville Sessions of July 1996, below is the complete roster of what was recorded there and when. It wasn't that she wasn't satisfied with the outcome, it's just that the release was often delayed for a variety of reasons, mostly the prolonged and unexpected success of the releases from Pieces Of You, that by the time the new album (to be title Fritz Creek Store) was to be finally released, Jewel stated that the songs on that album didn't really reflect where she was in that new point of her career and they did not release it. In the version I have, the artist does some of the same voice techniques that Jewel does in her other songs. It's live, she starts out by saying "I'm going to sing another song, quickly here, before I talk more.....", and anyone who has seen Jewel live knows that's something she would say (and she says it just like Jewel). I honestly can't imagine that it isn't Jewel, if it's not, than this artist could pose as a voice double, it's so Jewely. But it's not the same as any that I checked on those other artist's websites. I wish I could figure out a way to upload my version to the list, but I can't, so I hope this description helps some in our search for the truth.<<< - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger!
