In the song is the line "I feel so far from where I've been." Obviously, Jewel used the identical line in "You Were Meant for Me." Did Jewel originate this line? If so, it seems a little disingenuous of Ms. Carlton to rip off such a unique line. (For you Vanessa fans, before you get offended, I happen to like "White Houses." It just seems less than original for such an original artist.) popbidder w ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 5 Sep 2004 15:04:23 -0700 From: "Allison Crowe Music Mgmt" Subject: [EDA] EDA: NJC Invitation to Allison Crowe concert in NYC, Oct. 16 Allison Crowe, the singer-songwriter I've enjoyed working with for the past five years, will be performing for invited guests in NYC in a beautiful, intimate, mid-town cabaret theatre on Saturday, October 16. In thanks to, and affection for, Jewel and the EDAs, I'd like to invite EDAs who can make it to the show. As it's a small venue, and we're not selling tickets, if you want to be part of this special night, please email me asap so I can make sure you're included. Allison was honored to be among those featured in the "Favorite Artists" section of jeweljk.com (in the days before the Fans Rule+ changeover). Based on what newspaper reviewers have said, if you like Jewel, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin, Pearl Jam, Ani DiFranco, Patti Smith, Sarah McLachlan and early Elton John ~ you'll likely enjoy Allison's music. You can hear her mp3s @ http://www.allisoncrowe.com/music.html ~ and, if you like what you hear recorded, you'll love Allison live ( : Happy holiday weekend! That's right - the man on the mountain top. The guru of record keeping. Who else? Ohhhhh, Mr. BB... Calling Mr. BB... Dig in to your dusty archives and enlighten us with your knowledge. Alan would know for sure. If she's covering the Rolling Stones song, I'll bet it sounds pretty good. It's one of their better songs. BTW Alan, what is the meaning of life?
