Ahh, Nashville. The last great EDA Gathering. It was great seeing so many EDA faces (old and new) there. It seems years ago. (Err, I guess it was years ago.) Great to hear from you, Dan. Woody doesn't get tied down, just roped (and released back into the wild). He's a free-range plywood cow. And yes, the ladies did seem to enjoy roping (and cuddling) Woody. Why a piece of plywood is so damn lovable is beyond me. Sadly, since the horrific plywood bonfires of the last Woodstock rock festival, Woody is a bit of a recluse. I think nothing less than an EDA-sponsored "Woodystock" will snap the little fellow out of his current condition. If anyone has photos of themselves and Woody (from the MTV Studios Jewel taping, Texas/New Orleans roadtrip, soCal trips, Times Square, whatever), maybe you could forward them to me hang on his room wall. Does anyone have the email address of Corky Cow? Hearing from any of his old online friends might help, too. And please note that any chain mail letters or telethons claiming to raise money for Woody are entirely BOGUS. (What the hell does a Plywood Cow need money for?!?) What Woody really needs is emotional support -- not more bling-bling! - -- Dennis Harris, sensing there are even more surviving "old school" EDAs wandering the wilds of Jewelville... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Jul 2004 08:52:20 -0400 From: Sasafrass Subject: [EDA] Re: JeweLink Street Team Here's the URL for the Street Team: http://www2.fanscape.com/jewel/streetteam Visit my forums! http://www.gojabber.com/1/index.php?webtag=funplace http://dafc.conforums.com http://trudavies.proboards21.com http://www.max452.homestead.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Jul 2004 11:09:32 EDT From: Foolishgames6277@aol.com Subject: [EDA] instantlive hey guys, was just curioous to know if anyone had any recordings from any of jewels shows that she had the instant live thing at. I was curious to know if anyone who had any instant live recordings from any shows would burn me a copy of the performance. i went to the rochester show in michigan, and the clio show, but I only have a copy of the clio show, because meadownbrook would not allow jewel to record in rochester which is lame. Anyhow if anyone is interested in burning me a copy, i would be mor ethan willing to send you the clio show out. I believe it was the best show I have seen yet, as far as an acoustic set goes. Hope to hear from you all Jake ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Jul 2004 09:34:14 -0700 (PDT) From: James Brogdon Subject: [EDA] (The Hidden Cost of InstantLive) I myself being a taper, I even left my equipment home when heading out to the last round of local Jewel shows - InstantLive is providing it for us yes? Not much can be argued against a soundboard recording, except that it plain and simple, sounds different: I find myself missing the audience - maybe not the winding of disposable cameras and their cheesy flashes, but the ambience of sound just isn't there with the InstantLive recordings. They also cut out sections between tracks, so you end up missing certain amounts of cheering or applause, not that it necessarily doesn't happen with private tapers.. Just .02, hopefully I'll get a review up for the shows soon. I have not been able to get into the jeweljk.com website due to restrictions at work, and was looking into trying to get that Meet and Greet again. But I also want to have good seats, as i just found out about her coming to the Atlanta area last week. Please, if anyone has any information on that, please email me. THank you.
