Theresa, we should look into the Buyer Protection stuff on Paypal and file a complaint. We didn't get a refund either and with the way things are it will be hard to reach anyone that cares. We have 2 friends that worked for Fansrule the company in Lowell Mass that does Jewels website and Unedited and lots of other bands websites and they told us that the company is now completely out of business. They filed bankruptcy earlier this year and thought they could keep it going with restructuring but last week they fired everybody that was left and shut down completely. Maybe this is a chance for her manager to fix the mess they made with her fan stuff but somehow I doubt it. I guess we wait and see whats next? :( Dee In a message dated 7/3/4 4:56:05 PM, jbrogdon@sbcglobal.net writes: >Just an fyi, my subscription was also "cancelled" and I DID NOT receive >a refund. > >Theresa, we should look into the Buyer Protection stuff on Paypal and file >a complaint. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 Jul 2004 13:03:45 -0700 (PDT) From: Sean Ryan Subject: [EDA] Refund I am as upset as all of you, i found out a week before the cancellation note that paypal automtically charged my account without notice. We should all get together and file a complaint becuase if they knew they were ganna shut down completely then they shouldnt have renewed our subscriptions. ~Sean~Seany~Seanathan~Seansie~Keysean~Seanefer~ ~Seanshine~SGGS~Juan~Seantie~Seandiney~Seantrel~Seve~ Yahoo! Fansrule wasn't the one that used PayPal - Mani (Lendra's company) did. When a subscription is set up in PayPal it will automatically charge unless the company (Mani) or the subscriber cancels. In PayPal you can manage you subscriptions by logging on and choosing to cancel. I did last October and as of yet have not been charged and my PayPal account still shows the subscription as being terminated. As much as I hate FansRule, I think in all honesty this is Lendra's problem - as far as I can tell it is still her company that is receiving the money and should be one to correct it. The problem is who knows how to get a hold of the Mani people? == Rob == "All the perfect drugs and superheroes wouldn't be enough to bring me up to zero," Aimee Mann ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 Jul 2004 17:40:22 -0700 From: "Larry Greenfield" Subject: Re: [EDA] Refund I think all this has been turned over to new management: Irving Azoff. They are located in L.A.; I don't have the address handy, but it's easily found. As far as I know, Lenedra is not involved at all any longer in Jewel's management. - -=-Larry-=- > [Original Message] > From: {edit} As much as I hate FansRule, I think in all honesty this is Lenedra's > problem - as far as I can tell it is still her company that is receiving the > money and should be one to correct it. Hey guys! It looks like Jewel's management is finally going to cut connections with Fansrule. For those of you who do not know, fansrule are the people hired by Jewel's management (Irving Azoff) to do fan relations such as the website and Unedited. It hasn't necesarily been Jewel's management, but fansrule who has been giving us the shaft and upsetting so many fans. Big thanks to Tracy aka Angel Eyes for looking into the whole deal, and she found this on Christina Aguelera's site, which was also run by fansrule. Included is a message from Azoff's actual management, along with Fansrule's message. - ---- Christina Aguilera Cancelled Tour -- Refunds Update June 14, 2004 A Message from FansRULE: As many of you are aware, FansRULE filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2003. Since that time, the organization has pursued additional financing to continue its operations. FansRULE is continuing to negotiate for additional financing, but has not yet obtained any formal lending commitments. FansRULE regrets that the refunds for the cancelled Christina Aguilera 2004 tour cannot be paid at this time. What should be made clear is that the inability to refund payments made for tickets is in no way the fault of Christina Aguilera. We understand that this puts a great many of you in a difficult situation, and are hopeful for a speedy resolution to this problem. We will provide further updates as additional information becomes available. A Message from AzoffMusic Management: We are writing to you to let you know how sorry Christina feels that you have not received your refunds from FansRULE. When we hired FansRule it was with the belief that they would provide the best possible service to our fans. In fact, for a long time, they did provide an excellent service. When Christina cancelled her tour, as a result of doctor's instructions related to voice problems, we immediately contacted FansRule and insisted that they pay refunds to everyone who bought packages to the tour. Our expectation was that the refunds would be made by May 31. We have been actively and aggressively pursuing FansRULE to cause them to refund the money but, as of this date, our efforts have been unsuccessful. To the extent that you are able we would suggest that you contact your credit card company and cancel the transaction because the intended goods that you purchased were not delivered. Please note that we will continue to pursue this matter aggressively on our, and your, behalf. All the best, AzoffMusic Management on behalf of Christina Aguilera - ----- Well, there you have it. It looks like Fansrule messed up big time, definately. I heard about a lot of Jewel fans here not getting proper refunds as well. It looks like they used ticket money to go towards their debt as well. This definately looks like an end to Fansrule's relationship with Jewel as well. That hopefully means a much much better relationship between Jewel's people and us is on the way. If its even half as good as it was before I'd be very happy. Well, thats all from me! Happy 4th of July, you American EDAs!
