Ah, Mr. Harris, you're probably right - I should have brought the Inner Change door back to Canada when I had the chance. You know, I just wasn't thinking right. It took a real lonnnnng time to recover from that accident in a ca-noe. Canucks and their canoes, eh! Will we ever learn? Since they aren't going to be available for sale - -- anyone want to trade -- especially for the show that has 3 new songs on it -- I think San Diego 6-14-04. Please email me directly -- any show someone might want to trade. I can't believe we won't be able to buy these online. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but whatever. Nothing does with Jewel's management anymore. Just wanted to share with everyone who hasn't been able to keep up with everything. Recordings of some of these songs are now starting to surface on the net, so keep your eyes peeled! I've listened to them, and they are great. Old-school Jewel fans will be very pleased with what they hear. They are folk songs, but Jewel has certainly come a long way since writing songs such as Little Sister and Pieces Of You. "Where You Are" is a very Joni Mitchell-ish song. "I Belong With You" should be her next album's single. "Alice In Wonderland" almost ranks up there with "Nikos" for being sad and personal. Anyways, I'll just post the lyrics for you guys. I know Place In The Sun has already had its lyrics posted, so I'll leave it out. - --- "Where You Are" Verse 1: I called you late last night You said you didn't feel like talking I had to blow off a little bit of steam You said you were tired of feeling so uptight You make me so loose And I get so lost inside of you But I cannot always find my way To Where You Are You used to be so simple, used to be so much fun You said, yeah well that was back when you believed in my love But that things are not so simple now And I've turned out the lights somehow In the darkness you cannot always find your way To Where I Am Please don't take your eyes from me Cause if you did I would no longer be able to see Oh please I need you I am a princess And I'm locked inside a stone tower of song Trying to write message on the wind Trying to send the message how I just want to belong Oh choose me, choose me, take me, pick up Oh I want to believe That noone else exists for you And noone else exists for me You are my home and I have finally found my way To Where You Are - --- "I Belong To You" Verse 1: Tonight I have the strangest feeling I look for answers on a hotel ceiling When did my heart first feel this way? Being alone used to be just fine Now life without you Is just passing time I thought I heard you call my name I reached for your hand it was in vain When you're not here, it feels like a hole in my chest Get dressed Look in the mirror, see you're gone It'll never be the same Chorus: So I drive to you tonight I was blind now I have sight I could not leave you if I tried Your heart beats inside of me Like a star in the dark of night Like birds lost in flight Clouds in the sky of blue I Belong With You Verse 2: I've been together but alone I've made love without love being shown I've seen sorrow in a pair of dice All things that came in two made me cry Until tonight CHORUS Bridge: Can't stop, won't stop Love is what we've got I know I've reached the top (?) When I put my arms around you Can't stop, won't You are all I want CHORUS - --- Alice in Wonderland Verse 1: It's four in the afternoon I'm on a flight leaving L.A. Trying to think about my life My youth scattered along the highway Hotel rooms and headlines I've made a living with a song Just a guitar as my companion Wanting desperately to belong Fame is filled with spoiled children They grow fat on fantasy I guess that's why I'm leaving I crave reality Chorus 1: So goodbye Alice in Wonderland Goodbye yellow brick road There is a difference between dreaming and pretending I did not find paradise It was only a reflection of my lonely mind searching For what was missing in my life Verse 2: I'm embarassed to say the rest is a rock and roll cliche I hit the bottom when I reached the top I never knew it was you who was breaking my heart I thought you had to love me You did not Yes a heart can hallucinate If it's completely starved for love Can even make monsters seem like Angels from above You forged my love like a weapon And turned it against me like a knife You broke my last heartstring But you opened up my eyes Chorus 2: So goodbye Alice in Wonderland Goodbye yellow brick road There is a difference between dreaming and pretending That was not love in your eyes It was only a reflection of my lonely mind wanting what was missing in my life Bridge: Dreaming is a good thing cause it brings new things to life Pretending is an ending that perpetuates a lie Forgetting what you are Seeing for what you've been told And growing up is not the absence of dreaming It's being able to understand the difference between the ones you can hold And the ones that you've been sold Verse 3: Well, truth is stranger than fiction And this is my chance to get it right Life is much better without all of your pretty lies Chorus 3: So Goodbye Alice in Wonderland You can keep your yellow brick road Cause there is a difference between dreaming and pretending That was not love in your eyes It was only a reflection of my lonely mind wanting It was only a reflection of my lonely mind wishing That you were what was missing from my life - --- Thats all for now! I got these from the Jewelink Message board (big thanks to Fredsteve for transcribing and posting them). So far other new songs include "The Wedding Song" and "If My Heart Were Made Of Gold" I'd say your best bet for finding some of these songs online is Michiels forum or the Jewelink Message Boards (in my opinion the Jewelink board is the best forum for Jewel discussion on the net, those of you who haven't signed up really should.)
