Not to mention the fact that Jewel fanatics probably won't be able to wait months until the concert comes to their town to get the album, so they'd probably buy it ahead of time as well. She'd sell twice as many as she usually does. >From: "Stephen H." >To: jewel@smoe.org >Subject: [EDA] SJC: Prince's new marketing strategy >Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2004 18:57:18 +1000 > >Don't know if you guys have heard about this... but Prince just released >his latest album Musicology, and he has a very unusual marketing/cd sales >strategy associated with the album. Is anyone going to the solo acoustic show in NYC tonight? I happen to be in town on business and am just about to purchase my tickets...just curious to know if any other EDAs will be there. I didn't even know this show was happening...just happened to see Jewel's pic on the cover of an NYC City Guide down at the concierge's desk. For those interested, the city guide cover pic is one of the 0304 pics where she's wearing the green/yellow shirt and pink skirt with her belly showing. The cover says "Jewel: In a solo acoustic performance at legendary Carnegie Hall April 30th" and the blurb inside reads: "It's back to Carnegie Hall on April 30 when multi-platinum singer/songwriter Jewel will deliver an elegant and engaging performance with her trademark crystalline voice and musical authenticity. The versatile young artist just released her fifth career album, '0304,' which saw the singer/songwriter Jewel exploring new territory by giving her earnest, folksy songs a pop sheen and some dance beats. Since recording her first album nearly a decade ago, Jewel enjoys a rare career longevity among her generation of artists. Her four albums to date have sold 25 million copies worldwide." _________________________________________________________________ Check out the coupons and bargains on MSN Offers! http://youroffers.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Apr 2004 13:45:25 -0400 (EDT) From: "Mr. K Ris" Subject: [EDA] NJC: fansrule help (again) Fansrule was supposed to refund me $380 for velvet rope tickets from a cancelled Jewel show last October.
