Jewelblues@aol.com Actually, she under-estimated. Years ago she had well over 700 songs in her archives that she had written. (You have to remember that in her very early years of 1994-1996 she wrote a LOT of songs). The number has to be a lot higher now. By saying "400" she's probably only talking about the ones that are possible candidates for the next album...she's whittled it down to 400. By the way this numerical information about 700+ songs came from MrBB about 4 or 5 years ago. I'll look it up tonight after work. Or, I've also used DVD Decrypter to stream the audio and 'demux' it (split the audio/video streams) into an AC3 file and then BeSweet can convert that into MP3. http://www.dvddecrypter.com/ http://dspguru.notrace.dk/ (click on stable) == Rob == "All the perfect drugs and superheroes wouldn't be enough to bring me up to zero," Aimee Mann ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Apr 2004 09:16:10 -0400 From: "James McGarry" Subject: Re: [EDA] Re: 400 songs? - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Connell" To: ; Sent: Thursday, April 22, 2004 6:48 AM > Actually, she under-estimated. And wasn't this also _just_ songs that he had a copy of and didn't count songs that she had written, but lost (I vaguely recall her losing a notebook or notebooks at one point). I also vaguely recall a list of songs that collectively the EDA had compiled and _that_ was (if memory serves...) nearly 200 (circa '99-'00). (In fact in a quick seach I found Chris Groves site which lists 256 songs.) I even more vaguely recall an interview where she mentioned that she was writing 2-3 songs/day while on tour. So, I could believe she wrote 400+ songs _just_ while on various tours and by now might have nearly 1000 songs archived. I don't have a dvd-rom in my computer, but I think that you can put the sound of your dvd player into your computer in the audio-card input and with a software for record sound, you can capture the dvd audio. With the recorder of the Windows you can capture only few minutes, and you can't save the file as mp3. I do that with the lilith fair dvd sound, and it's work ok. by.
