Well, I guess they finally decided to go with Pink. I can't say i'm happy about it, because I despise Pink, I think she's extremely irritating and overreated. But I also don't think Jewel was right for the part, although that would be cool, lol! >> DMX, Gwen Stefani and Ja Rule aren't the only musicians to announce they are making movies lately. P!nk has signed on to play Janis Joplin in a new biopic that will film this summer, tentatively called The Gospel According to Janis. Director Penelope Spheeris has been developing the movie for 15 years, and reportedly, P!nk (a.k.a. Alecia Moore) can do a dead-on vocal impersonation of Joplin. In fact, she will sing live in the movie. "After trying to make a picture on Janis' life for 15 years, I'd call Alecia's screen test the most gratifying moment in my film career," Spheeris told Daily Variety. "She is the perfect age to play Janis from when she first came to California at 19 to when she died at 27." ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Apr 2004 00:30:39 -0400 From: shawn e williams Subject: Re: [EDA] Yesterday's "Rolling Stone Today" aww! how cute...she's wants to be like Jewel. love ya, shawney the hippie angel On Sat, 3 Apr 2004 08:52:31 -0800 "Larry Greenfield" writes: > From yesterday's "Rolling Stone Today": > > JESSICA DREAMS WITH JEWEL > > JESSICA SIMPSON and husband NICK LACHEY have wrapped shooting for > their April 11th variety show, according to the new issue of "Us > Weekly." I didn't really see it, cause their music is totally different. But Pink does have Janis-like vocals. "Trouble" sounds like Janis though. Anyway......can't wait to see the movie!! love ya, shawney the hippie angel On Mon, 5 Apr 2004 23:21:51 -0300 "Fabio" writes: > Well, do you guys remember we once had a discussion about Jewel to > possibly > play Janis Joplin in a film?
