Are there new Tshirts or stickers or programs or anything? Also, has anyone gone to a show through the charity auction (front row + meet n greet)? I bid and won tickets to a show (through JewelJK/stub-hub.com) but noticed that a new auction immediately started, so is the whole front row for charity? just wondering what to expect. Also, I was wondering what I should take to get signed. I was thinking a CD ofcourse but going through my Jewel stuff I saw my POY booklet/pamphlet, so would that be cool to get signed? Just curious as to your opinions. thanks! cristian ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 Apr 2004 17:38:48 -0600 From: "Matt Sullivan" Subject: [EDA] Jewel IS NOT pregnant. Well guys, the artical on Michiels site is phony. Lemme prove it to you: STEPHENVILLE, Texas (CNN) -- Pop diva Jewel is pregnant....(most credible articals show the author, and CNN has no affiliate in Stephenville) Jewel will take a hiatus from her singer career after the release of her upcoming, and last, album to spend more time with her baby which is due at the end of the year, her spokeswoman said...(now, why does Jewel talk on Billboard.com that she will be looking at other offers from record labels after her contract with Atlantic is up. Why would you need another contract if you are not recording anymore?) Her past album, 0304, has been written with one purpose in mind - to lift the spirits of everyone saddened by the war. The problem is, her last two albums combined to sell less than half as many copies as her debut...(3 million is a lot less than half of what POY sold, a real journalist would've included the holiday album to make this statement closer to the truth) "This will be my last present for my fans, I'm returning to my roots and my voice isn't ready for more studio hard working". ..(Jewel has CONTINUALLY said that she hasn't abondoned her roots, just becuase the music of 0304 is upbeat...the lyrics are still political and poetic, in typical Jewel fashion) Along with "0304," she is also out in support of her first concert DVD, "Live at Humphrey's by the Bay," released yesterday (March 30) by Eagle Vision. ...(umm the DVD was released on March 23, atleast that's when I bought it at the mall...) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 01 Apr 2004 19:22:00 -0500 From: Mike Connell Subject: Re: [EDA] Jewel IS NOT pregnant. A similar post had been posted on April Fools Day about Jewel and Ty getting married either last year or the year before then. It's not a big deal, everybody is doing it, it's a simple joke, and it's not like any of Jewel's management reads the sites and/or this list anymore. Calm down, and take it with a grain of salt. It's not worth getting all hyped up over. :) Melissa - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt Sullivan" To: Sent: Thursday, April 01, 2004 3:38 PM Subject: [EDA] Jewel IS NOT pregnant. > > Well guys, the artical on Michiels site is phony. Maybe that's similar to what Jewel will do. Pixies To Offer Instant Live Gratification The Pixies will make every show from their upcoming 15-date North American tour available for sale immediately after the performance, Billboard.com can reveal. The group will be touring with a recording truck from DiscLive that will press a limited run of 1,000 CDs per show (2,000 for the May 1 performance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif.). The double-CD sets will sell for $25 at the venue or $22 if they're pre-ordered through DiscLive's Web site. At each venue, fans will be able to purchase a voucher prior to the concert. Approximately 10-15 minutes following its conclusion, they will trade the voucher for the show on CD, including artwork specific to that performance. Any CDs that are not sold at the show will be available from the Disc Live site; CDs can also be mailed to the buyer. There is a two CD limit per customer. Beginning today (April 1), DiscLive is making 500 CDs from each show available for pre-order online. If all 500 copies are pre-ordered before a given show, only 500 additional copies will be sold at the venue. According to a spokesperson, the discs will not be re-pressed once all copies have been sold. The Pixies' first tour since 1992 will kick off April 13 in Minneapolis. Following the Coachella performance, the group heads to Europe for a host of headlining and festival appearances. A full-scale North American tour is in the planning stages for the fall. DiscLive has previously offered post-show CDs from such acts as the Doors Of The 21st Century, Billy Idol, Jefferson Starship, the Newsboys and Antibalas. ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V9 #98 **************************
