Jewel changed through the years and I only aim for acoustic shows nowadays. So this was our chance since she isnt into flying over to Holland anymore I guess. Miranda mentioned most of my thoughts about the Rockford concert already. We (two dutch friends) were in Chicago for 4 Melissa Etheridge shows and drove to Rockford on the day before just to see Jewel. I did not regret that afterwards. Indeed I agree that it was not her best show but I loved the stories. I was at row EE which is a bit in the back. The sound however was excellent. I loved the opening act Joe Firtsman as well. Expecially the wedding song touched me. And he has a great sense of humor. Unfortunately I did not think of buying a copy of his album. Maybe I'm going to order it on the internet. The setlist was not that refreshing. The three new album songs were ok. Loved to hear Break Me again and my guess as NYA as an opening song was a winner ( I had a bet with my friend that it would be the opener...). The couple on stage for helping Jewel remembering the words for Boy Needs A Bike was dancing and having a great time. That did make Jewel laugh and that was so cute ! After the spectacular 1997 acoustic shows I was happy to see an acoustic show again. We didn't have time to chat with you guys in the front but you could tell you had a good time over there. Unfortunately I don't have time to write a long review but if you have questions I'm happy to answer them. I will post the whole setlist as soon as I have heard the show again (oopsssss....) Take care ! Marcel. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Mar 2004 17:40:47 -0330 From: "Mark Austin" Subject: [EDA] Re: Everything Reminds Me of You lyrics Yep, there's actually already two versions of this on the net now, with completely different verses. I think I prefer the earlier performance, because Joe kind of turns out a cheesy southern-man impersonation, lol. In that version, I think he goes, "You got them big brown eyes to hide behind, you have you lines, and I have mine." after Jewel.
