It's a very good movie though. It's more of a drama/love story than a war movie, but there are many violent and gory parts. The trailer for Jersey Girl looks funny. I like all of all Kevin Smith's movies although it will be weird to see one where Jay and Silent Bob are not in it. I also saw the original Woodstock movie. The "real" Woodstock from 1969 with Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and The Who. Not the 1999 CorporateStock. The original one is groovy man. Check it out if you've never seen it. I have a friend that got a similar thing. Do you use a grocery bag to pop it? That is how my friends is. I think it is pretty cool. I didn't really get anything strange or bizarre for Christmas. I got a lot of very useful things that I love: clothes, a couple games, a great CD (Joe Firstman), couple DVDs, and some exercise stuff I wanted. Good Christmas! :-) I love Christmas, not about the gifts, I just love the feeling and magic of Christmas so much. I feel sad that we keep getting further and further from Christmas, but I guess we're getting closer and closer to the next one. Saw Cold Mountain Christmas day...Jewel is no where in it....wasn't even expecting her. I think people did confuse Renee Zellweiger with Jewel. Two trailers running for the movie almost give completely different impressions of what the movie is about--at least that is what it seemed to me. One of them featured Miss Zellweiger so maybe they thought it was Jewel. IMO there were no other appropriate female parts that Jewel would have been a cameo performer anyway--unless she wound up on the cutting room floor. Cheers! I realize a song is just a song and you don't have to read anything in to it, but like if someone asked me to sing a song with the lyrics like "I hope will remember that we don't need him around anyhow" I would pause for a second and think - why I am signing this? This wasn't just a name in a song, this was a person she knew and had been unbelievably generous in offering his studio to her. It just got me wondering. Someone older than I (**hint, hint Mike***) might shed light - were the barbs between Neil Young and Lynyrd Skynyrd really like serious or were they like rappers are now trading jabs back and forth. == Rob == "All the perfect drugs and superheroes wouldn't be enough to bring me up to zero," Aimee Mann ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Dec 2003 18:42:55 +0000 From: "Amy Emerman" Subject: [EDA] FW: Poetry Reading: Jendi Reiter at Caffe Sha Sha, Feb 24th >You are all invited to an event of poetry and music that I will be putting >on at CAFFE SHA SHA on Tuesday, February 24th (which also happens to be my >mom's bday, coincidentally or serendipitously). That's fine and all that but how does anyone else get some of the powdered cheese from your dad? Believe it or not, for an unusual Christmas gift, I gave my mom some Listerine. Seriously. There's a story with it that makes it legit. Still, bet ya not too many moms thru the years got some Listerine for Christmas. Gotta be perfectly honest about this. Even though that WAS my prime era in music (my college years), and I had many albums by both and even had tix to a Skynyrd concert that was to take place during the tour when the plane crashed killing two (?) of the band members, either this is the very first I heard of a feud between Neil Young and LS or my alzheimers is getting worse. ;-) Seriously, I do not recall anyting about this. I guess Ronnie was pissed off that Neil wrote, "Southern Man" and "Alabama" (both criticizing the South), so Ronnie retaliated with "Sweet Home Alabama." I don't think it was anything serious, like scrapping or anything (lol) because I heard that they resolved their issues so now all is good in the world of Ronnie and Neil (well not so much for Ronnie :-/). VH1 will be showing 100 greatest shocking moments on 12/31/03 and 40 greatest celebrity feuds on 12/31/03 and 1/2/04 mentioned here http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/young_neil/artist.jhtml on Neil Young's VH1 artist page. under "On VH1" Check that page for time's I guess if you want :) I don't know how accurate they are, but here are a few links about the "feud": http://hyperrust.org/General/Skynyrd.html http://home.earthlink.net/~thrasher1/jammin/lynyrd.htm mentioned briefly in Lynyrd Skynyrd's VH1 artist page: http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/lynyrd_skynyrd/bio.jhtml I hope I answered your question lol if not, sorry for rambling! I don't know everything about this, and this is before my time, so please excuse me if I offend anyone or seem ignorant in anyway, or if I left out any information. :) melee ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Dec 2003 20:23:10 +0100 From: "michiel" Subject: [EDA] JEWEL ON DUTCH TV TOMORROW NIGHT!
