Today's Subjects: ----------------- [EDA] re: John Mayer on Jewel ["Mark Austin" ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 26 Dec 2003 01:14:08 -0330 From: "Mark Austin" Subject: [EDA] re: John Mayer on Jewel Well, the reason I get so harsh on these things is because I'm so sick of hearing it. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I could care less if John Mayer doesn't like one of Jewel's songs. I'm not going to hate someone for not liking Jewel. However, I wish they would just get over it all. Intuition was months and months ago, and the Jewel bashing is getting very old. As much as I love 0304, I can't wait for her to move on to the next album so we can put this stuff behind us. And hey, at least Elton John likes Jewel, and he carries much more relevance than Mayer or Branch: Ingred Sischy: What records do you think will carry over from this summer? Elton John: One of them is Jason Mraz's Waiting For My Rocket To Come [elektra]. This guy is going to be the John Mayer of the year. It's a really strong album-great songs that are beautifully sung, great musicianship. It's been in my C.D. Player nonstop, as has the new album by Jewel, 0304 [Atlantic]. The records pop-oriented sound is a complete change of direction for Jewel, but she's taken a big risk and it suits her. Her record is going to be around for a long time. (Thats from foolishgames.com ;D) Merry Christmas again, everyone! Mark _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
