I need the contact information for your legal department, as actual autographed pictures were only sent to approximately, to my calculations, only about 20% of the members. Members signed up being told that the pictures would be autographed, not preprinted. Signing up under presumably false pretenses, due to statements made on Jewel's website, this is quickly become a legal issue. I would like to forward this information to your legal department so that all members that signed up prior to November 2003 can receive their autographed picture within the next 30-days, otherwise legal action will be taken regarding this manner, and media outlets will recieve a press release regarding the issue. We will also need to work out a partial membership or full refund. I expect immediate contact from you as to who I need to pass this information on to. Sometimes bitching and whining and causing waves, isn't the best way to get things done. How do you react when your little sister or brother whines at you? Probably like you wish you could just press the "mute" button on them, right? I understand why you are upset, but I think you need to think out of the box right now. Obviously, complaining hasn't gotten you anywhere, right? Maybe you need to be-friend someone, so they see you as a person, so they can have apathy for you as a person, instead of as someone who just complains all the time. They only hear from you when you complain. Also, technically, you did get an autographed picture of Jewel. Just because it wasn't touched or licked by Jewel personally (not that I lick pictures I'm signing myself... yummy visual, huh? What did she have for breakfast... I'm J/K) doesn't mean that you didn't get an autographed picture. Unedited only states, "All pre-paid one year subscribers will receive an autographed photo of Jewel." It doesn't say anything about the autographs not being "hand signed" or even mass produced. At least you got something from Unedited, ya know? I think patience is a virtue, and maybe Jewel's management would recognize her fans more, or the EDA's or the Unedited members, like, "Hey, they were patient when we didn't have photos for the Unedited members and they didn't complain. Hey, maybe we should look out for these guys, because after all they are here for Jewel through *thick and thin.* and HAVE BEEN," (can't really say that's true, now huh?). Ya know what I'm saying? Even if they don't do that, hey, I think it's better then complaining, and taking all of my energy out on a negative phone call or negative letter. I have better things to focus my energy on. If I were Jewel's management or even Jewel, I would appreciate fans for being patient through all the changes and through all of the heartache that Jewel had to go through during her harder times. EDA's complained when she canceled the 0304 tour and complained when she didn't go to the funeral and complained because of this and that and everything under the sun. We still find the info out eventually, right? That's because we all work together to make it happen. We network with each other to find out what we need and want to know. We have proved that we don't need her management holding our hand or sending us emails everyday telling us when Jewel took her last dump (another great visual, huh? :p j/k). By complaining I think, that makes the EDA's look selfish and I really wouldn't be that willing to help out the ones that complain either, if I were on the other side. If you really want to be a part of her fan club, which it seems like you do, (I mean, why would you bother complaining or spending so much time and effort on this, if you didn't really care?) then we need to be careful. Right now Unedited is the only thing like it out there for Jewel fans. If we bite the hand that feeds us, we can't expect them to come back for more, right? Just a thought... But, on the other hand, "autograph" technically means "self-signed," and a photocopy or any other "copy" of someone's signature just isn't an autograph. When someone extracts money from someone else based on a promise and doesn't deliver on that promise, it's a breach of contract (a partially-executed bi-lateral contract, to be technical). If the person who extracts the money never had the intention of keeping the promise, then that's fraud. I don't think anyone is claiming that Jewel has had any direct involvement in any of this, but it's a problem nevertheless for FansRule (or for whomever else sold these memberships).
