Called a few local Milwaukee stations to piss and moan that they arn't playing Stand....four infact....and three told me that her record company is apparntly "pushing a new single" and that 2 Become 1 was that single! Sweet Temptation is a terrific song, makes one feel all sorts of joy/emotion, and I feel there is every reason why this song would be popular among the public masses. Sweet Temptation is one of my all-time favorite Jewel tunes and definely my favorite off 0304. Of course personal favorites don't make public favorites, but I think Sweet Temptation is overlooked. Steve is RIGHT!!!!!! I totally think that break me should NEVER have been a second single and I also agree that Sweet Temptation IS overlooked! I LOVE that song and everyone I know also loves that song, its a PERFECT hit. I don't understand why Stand is already out of the picture? It is getting HUGE radio play here, sure its just NORTH DAKOTA but still... 2 become 1 is just like releasing This Way. I think half the reason these singles flop all the time is because they aren't pushing it enough, that's why the first single is always the best is cause they push that one soo much. Hmmmm... Maybe because there's no plans for Jewel to even release the single in Europe (because Intuition did so bad in most places) and because nobody who watches MTV Europe really knows who she is. Therefore the record company has no reason to spend thousands of dollars to fly her out there just to have her not be seen at all anyway. Anzoff may be an idiot in most respect (i.e. keeping Jewel's loyal fans happy) but at least he's not wasting her money. We don't need Jewel to appear at the EMA's - if Jewel's in Europe, the only way she'll make any money is by touring. As for '2 Become 1' - it's a nice song. I think it has a lot more chance of becoming a hit at AC than something like 'Sweet Temptation' and 'Yes U Can' - I know the 80s are back in fashion and all, but the cheesy guitar licks might be taking it too far for most people ;). Playing it safe is definitely the way to go now, and '2 Become 1' is one of the best sounding pop songs on '0304'.
