But, I was wondering if there is anyone here who can detail how Brady Blade came from being in Emmylou Harris' band to Jewel's touring band during the Spirit tour and back again - as far as I can tell, Tony Hall was with Jewel and then with Emmylou Harris. They are both with Emmylou now as a part of her band Spyboy. As far as I can tell Tony Hall replaced Daryl Johnson in Spyboy. Anyone else have any insight as to how and when these guys bounced from one to the next? I imagine that Brady went back to Emmylou during the hiatus that Jewel took and that Tony followed him. But, I was wondering what happened with Emmylou's band in the first place since the Spyboy album came out at almost the identical time as Spirit. It would have seemed that Emmylou would have been touring to support her album. Maybe these are questions better asked of an Emmylou message board or list. Or, maybe I have far too much time on my hands and I should go to bed. I think it's the best choice from the album. They MUST go for a Hot Ac approach, because Pop won't play any other single from the album, unless it's a Hot Ac hit. If they release Yes U Can, not only Pop won't play it, but also Hot Ac. I hope it's true. They could make a very wintery video also. Fabio ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 Oct 2003 18:56:03 +0000 From: "charlie zidon" Subject: [EDA] 3rd single I gotta say that the BEST bet for the next single shouldn't be 2 become 1. I mean that MIGHT do well, but its JUST like "this way" and look how THAT did!? I definately think the next single should be something TOTALLY different for Jewel. Something VERY "jewelesque." I REALLY think it should be the BEST song on the album aside from Haunted. It should be... SWEET TEMPTATION!!!!! Honestly i think that is the best song on the album. VERY different from everything else out there and still very fun. Everyone will love it. It is too catchy NOT to love. _________________________________________________________________ Enjoy MSN 8 patented spam control and more with MSN 8 Dial-up Internet Service. I think it's just enough Jewel & just different enough from the other singles she's released to do well... ~ Sandy ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 Oct 2003 16:56:18 EST From: Dave0828@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] 3rd single Hmmmmmm....... Personally I would like the next single to be the FIRST single off of a new and better album. I really don't think that people enough are willing to take 0304 seriously. The casual fan that enjoys the music that Jewel was already making is listening to the current singles not knowing what to make of it. Meanwhile, dance pop fans have all of the singers that Jewel is being compared to with 0304 and they're not buying the new sound. Genuine or not in her latest endeavor - this is not being well received by the masses. Add that to the fact that her loyal fans are split (at best) on how much they like these new songs, and it's a recipe for Jewel's first album to possibly not hit platinum. Regardless of marketing and the spin that anyone wants to put on this - this is NOT her biggest success, the numbers don't lie. We're going to be six months into the sales for this album soon and platinum is not even being challenged. Like the new album or not, with all of the other things that have caused drama in Jewel's world in the past several months it may well be time to move on to the next project. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. I'd like to happily say that they're wrong : ) We asked X-tina (lol, kind of an inside Jewelinker joke) from Jewelink if she knew, and she found out and let us know. Thats pretty great, I have to say. Huge thanks to her! Just don't go e-mailing her or bugging her with questions now, taking advantage like that isn't a good idea. Anyways, straight from Jewel's management: Jewel will only be appearing in one episode of The Lyon's Den, and will not be promoting it on Jay Leno. NBC pulled the show for all of November because its an importmant month for money making, and Lyon's Den hasn't been doing too well. If it doesn't get canceled, we should see Jewel's episode in December. This e-mail is good and bad news, isn't it? The lasting song is the winner. Intuition is among those, so: DO *NOT* VOTE FOR JEWEL! We guys at the JeweLink Team are voting off **Magic Stick, by Lil' Kim feat. 50 Cent** http://www.vh1.com/shows/events/big_in/2003/song.jhtml The best thing to do is that we all vote off the same song, so Intuition can last longer. We'll be voting off Magic Stick until it's gone, ok? Then we'll move to a new song. Check the website EVERYDAY, since it's a daily thing.
