It's funny, Monday night I was watching the RMA's and Jewel was performing. My husband made a comment about how he thinks she has one of the most beautiful voices he has ever heard, but that this new "crap" she is doing is just wrong. I, of course, agreed because I really do not like 0304 at all. Then he made a comment that really struck a cord with me. He said something to the effect of when her new CD comes out I will not be rushing to get it the day it is released. And I realized he was right. I have lost some respect for her music. I still do, and always will, love all her old stuff. But unless I hear some of the songs ahead of time and know that they are great, I will not be in any hurry to buy her next CD. That really makes me sad. I just hope she hasn't permanently lost too many fans with this change in style. Sorry for the ramblings, - -Mi Rinda When we talk about equal pay for equal work, women in the workplace are beginning to catch up. If we keep going at this current rate, we will achieve full equality in about 475 years. I don't know about you, but I can't wait that long - Lya Sorano Personally I'm hoping that the word that the next album is going to be acoustic is still true. Really, I'm more likely to pull out a favorite live show than a CD release most of the time - but when I do, it's not commonly 0304. I'm going to give Jewel the benefit of the doubt and assume that she'll find a way to dazzle us like she has in the past and I'm going to look forward to 0304 hopefully finding its way into obscurity. Here's hoping, Dave ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2003 12:48:11 -0500 From: Lseids@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Lyon's Den Cancelled RIGHT FROM THE HEADLINES OF VARIETY NBC is getting out of "The Lyon's Den" for the November sweeps. Net has pulled all episodes of the Rob Lowe legal drama for the key ratings period. Various programming, including some extra episodes of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," will fill the 10 p.m. Sunday slot. Skein remains in production and is currently set to return in December. Odds of a full-season pickup, however, are said to be long. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2003 13:54:00 EST From: ReducedToYou@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Adrian randomness ...so i was learning the song Adrian last night on guitar.. and as i was listening to the CD tell the story, it hit me; when i picture the story going on in my head, i think of the movie The Secret Garden. it's very strange, cuz the last time i saw it i was pretty young. i think of Mary Epperson as the lead chick in it; i think of frilly white dresses, and like blue skies, and tea time.. lol ... very strange. Essentially, a lot of you love Jewel's acoustic stuff better, thats how you became a fan. Its fair to say that a lot of us wouldn't of bought 0304 if we weren't already fans. But I still think 0304 is really good. It was meant to be fun, and intellectual at points, but not deep. Most of you go for the deep part the most, right? Anyways, I still love 0304 and play it regularly, and I know many others still do. I doubt I'll look back and say "WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?!" because I really love the album. Its very upbeat, but not mindless. I think all 5 albums (including Joy, even though its still a good way from Christmas lol) get equal rotation from me. I love them all. Just heard on E! that they are pulling the Lyon's Den during the November sweeps month. Starting THIS Sunday. So who knows if we will ever see the episode(s) with Jewel. I don't know if it would do any good but maybe anyone who has a minute can write an email to NBC to let them know we are curious what they will do with the ep's Jewel filmed or what not.
