Well, last I heard anyway. It's unfortunate too because that's how new fans of Jewel could easily access angelfood classics. That's where I got my first piece of angelfood. On one hand, p2p programs have made it wonderful and a lot easier to find rare Jewel songs, but it's not the same to me. REAL angelfood has dates to it. It has setlists to it. It has history to it. You know the history of the set. For example, you may download a "Gray Matter," but where did it come from? Was it from Jewelstock? the first time she sang it? One of the tapes I cherish is the infamous fire hazard show at Java Joes. It holds more value to me to know it was way back when and there was a story behind it. If you only have one song, how can you get the whole story/picture? Uhh .. sorry, that post came out longer than I intended. LOL. Forgive me, it's been a long day and I'm just babbling. Short answer, no, angelfood bank is gone. =| Elizabeth Thus conscience does make cowards of us all; And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought - Shakespeare, "Hamlet" Perfect for the Jewel Kilcher Fan! It doesn't mention Jewel the singer anywhere in the website. So, I would think that she doesn't make it. Mendez Publisher(s): Wiggly Tooth/EMI April, ASCAP; Apollinaire, BMI Genre: POP Label/Catalog Number: Atlantic 301287 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: September 20, 2003 With Jewel's comeback lodged securely in the chart record books now-previous single "Intuition" conquered adult top 40, mainstream top 40 and dance, propelling her album "0304" to No. 2 on The Billboard 200-the folkie-cum-eye-winking siren delivers the goods with another radio-ready, jet-powered hook. "Stand" is arguably the most satisfying pop song on the set, undulating to a midtempo pulse amid teasing "oohs" and coos from the singer/songwriter. While producer Lester Mendez earns a high-five for casting Jewel in a fresh instrumental sculpt, she still shimmers with her skills as a societal sleuth, exploring the irony behind making judgmental generalizations about those around us. Jewel's catalog continues to grow richer, and this exceptional song makes it clear that she's on a mass-appeal roll. "0304" is one of the few albums of the year that plays well in one sitting; it represents the best work of her career. Unfortunately, this issue of JeweLink brings sad news. The loss of Jewel's friend and band mate, "T-Bone" Hannon, and the subsequent cancellation of Jewel's tour, is at the forefront this week. Jewel will, however, play some OF THE TOUR DATES AS ACOUSTIC SHOWS. ** Jewel Cancels Tour Jewel has cancelled her forthcoming scheduled tour of North America due to the sudden death of her bass player, Terome "T-Bone" Hannon. T-Bone suffered a stroke last week and passed away on Thursday, September 4th in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. He was 39 years old and had been a member of Jewel's live band for the past three years. The tour had been slated to begin on September 19th in North Charleston, South Carolina. While Jewel has cancelled her upcoming concerts with her band, plans are currently being made for her to perform selected solo acoustic shows. "T-Bone was a phenomenal player and we all loved him," said Jewel. "We are all just in shock and hurt." ** Acoustic Sets Jewel will be performing several solo acoustic shows later this month, beginning with a concert in Atlanta, Georgia on September 20th. Future tour plans will be announced as soon as they become available. Jewel's upcoming acoustic shows are as follows: Sept. 20 Atlanta, GA Chastain Park Amphitheatre Sept. 22 Washington, DC 9:30 Club Sept. 26 Atlantic City, NJ Borgata Sept. 27 Boston, MA FleetBoston Pavilion Sept. 28 Gilford, NH Meadowbrook Farm Sept. 30 Providence, RI Providence Perf. Arts Center ** Music Quest Winners Anne Heaton and the Susan Greenbaum Band, winners of the Music Quest contest, will not be joining Jewel for this abbreviated leg of her tour. However, we look forward to seeing them at future scheduled shows. **Jewel on NBC's "Lyon's Den" Jewel is currently filming a role on Rob Lowe's new NBC drama "Lyon's Den". She will appear in 3 episodes this fall. T-Bone Wolk was Jewel's bassist at JewelStock and the recording sessions she was having at the time for the never released Fritz Creek Store. T-Bone also toured with her a bit in that timeframe. T-Bone Wolk has been a fixture along side Hall & Oates for nearly 3 decades. Do a Google on him and you'll get tons of hits. And both of them probably wouldn't have been known as T-Bone if not for T-Bone Walker, the first electric bluesman, who died in 1975. He will also appear in a google search. You'll find Walker listed as an influence on BB King, for example.
