Okay, people, emailing critics isn't going to do much good...not only is it not going to change her mind, and not only is she not going to print some sort of retraction because she got a bunch of email, but it's HER OPINION, and HER JOB to review stuff...she is obviouisly not going to like everything, but who really cares? I don't know many people who read one critics review & decide they suddenley hate something just because the critic didn't like it. Emailing someone for having an opinion that differs from yours & doing their job is pointless. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Aug 2003 11:14:25 +0000 From: "Lauren Bennett" Subject: [EDA] Atlanta concert Hey, I have 2 extra tickets for Atlanta. She climbed in the 2nd week from 15 to 7!!! And since december 1997 Jewel came only to # 9 in Holland. So we are writing Jewel history in Holland! We are so proud of Jewel in Europe! esp HOlland! Well, I just saw the video for This Way! No, it wasn't on tv, sorry for getting your hopes up! lol Where I live, dial-up is the fastest internet speed you can get, and its just not worth trying to watch videos with it. All you get is choppy motion and highly compressed chunky-looking visuals. But right now I'm in Toronto at my cousin's house, which has high speed internet. After a LOT of searching (Its like the video for This Way never existed; not even on JewelJK anymore) I found it on the MSN Jewel artist spotlight. I must say, its a shame it never got anywhere. I heard the song on the radio a couple of times last summer and thats about it. Its definatley one of my favorite Jewel videos, along with Jupiter, Foolish Games, YWMFM, WSIT, and Intuition. Hell, I love them all, lol. I'm wondering does anyone have the video saved to their computer in decent quality? I want to burn it and take it home so I can watch it again after I leave Toronto. Its highly unlikely, I know, but I might as well try. Peace, Mark _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? First of all Mtv declared Jewel4s video Intuition as video of the week aka Superclip! That helped Jewel spins of her video with a lot of viewers and they have seen it a lot! Then Jewel started to be played on radio, and she was given the nomination of ALARMSCHIJF of the WEEK! This little things in total, helped Jewel getting more and more airplay. Then her charts in holland were very high and on YORINFM she ended up high in the YOR25, an interactive chart for fans to vote! Than Jewel entered the top 40 at #15, which is a dream. And that you than jump to #7 is way out of control :) It is Jewel4s biggest hit in Holland since FOOLISH GAMES in 1997! So the perception of 0304 will be amazing as well in holland, look forward to pick it up in 8 days in the stores in holland! Jewel always has fans in Holland and they vote for jewel, and that is nice! I think Jewel will come soon over to Holland and perform here a concert. If there is a country that deserves a CONCERT than i am sure we will rock!! Jewel was also a week or 2 the almost airplayed song in holland! In total Jewel does well in Holland better than she will do ever in the UK!! Also nice is that despite the falling market of cdsingle sales JEwel is still peaking such high in the charts. In Holland in 2003 7% has been dropped in cdsingles sales due to downloading/ripping etc from KAZAA etc... Jewel never entered the chart in holland at #!15 in the first week and than risen to position #7 in the next week! So on two weeks she moved amazing! bye Michiel http://www.jewelkilcher.nl/ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Aug 2003 18:26:47 -0400 From: Mike Connell Subject: [EDA] FWD: TOUR OPENER ANNOUNCED // INTL. I know a lot of you like Sarah, so here it goes: (the new album should be out on November 4th, and the possible title is "Fallen") http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2003/08/2005.cfm Sarah McLachlan Single Due In September Wednesday August 20, 2003 @ 04:00 PM By: ChartAttack.com Staff Six years have elapsed since the 1997 release of Sarah McLachlan's Surfacing, a massive success with the assistance of such soft-rock hits as "Building A Mystery," "Adia," "Sweet Surrender" and "Angel." Since then, McLachlan hype has abated due to a lack of new material on Sarah's part. All we've heard from the Halifax-born singer-songwriter in the wake of Surfacing is the live compilation Mirrorball, composed of a selection of McLachlan's performances from the now-defunct Lilith Fair tour, and a remix album that came out in 2001. So, as many fans have likely been asking, what the heck is the deal? Is Sarah on hiatus indefinitely, or is there a new studio album on the horizon? Well, fans can rest easy, because Ms. McLachlan has not retired from the music industry yet. Not only is there a new album in the works, but the first single will be ready for your listening pleasure as early as September. The new single, "Fallen," will be available through Musicrypt's Digital Media Distribution System (DMDS) on September 1 at 10 p.m. ET, offering fans a taste of what to expect on the forthcoming album. For those who aren't in the know about this whole DMDS thing, not to worry - we can explain. Essentially, DMDS is a new digital technology that allows for the secure transfer of files over the internet. In the case of "Fallen," McLachlan's label Nettwerk Records is planning to use DMDS to send the new track out to a variety of radio stations, which will then broadcast the track for audiences across the nation. No other information about the album is available at this time, nor do we know whether or not Ms. McLachlan will be hitting the road any time soon. Her most recent Canadian performance was back in June at the Concert For Toronto, alongside Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, Barenaked Ladies and tons of other Canadian faves. We'll keep you posted as any new album or tour info becomes available. - -Megan O'Toole - - ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Aug 2003 00:43:10 -0300 From: "Fabio" Subject: [EDA] More Lyon's Den I found this to be interesting: http://www.tv-now.com/daily/archive.htm Rob Lowe: In the former West Wing star's new series for NBC, The Lyon's Den, he plays a lawyer with strong ties to an American political dynasty who joins a law firm he does not really want to work for in return for their help in saving the pro-bono D.C. law clinic that he admires. One of his major tests will come when he takes on his former lover in court, a highly competitive lawyer from the Department of Justice. Rock fans may be surprised to see Jewel in the role of Lowe's foe. She will make her television series debut in the three episode storyline when it airs later in the fall. If she can act as good as she can sing, NBC might want to consider offering the performer the gig on a recurring basis. It would be really cool to have Jewel "on a recurring basis"! Plus, he only says good things about her, and you don't see that often! Fabio - - ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Aug 2003 00:06:24 EDT From: PENNY16161@aol.com Subject: [EDA] More news about Jewel on "The Lyons Den" So, I posted yesterday about how Jewel was going to be on The Lyon's Den. Here's some more info from billboard.com: Jewel will guest star in three episodes of the new NBC drama "The Lyon's Den." The singer/songwriter will play a Department of Justice lawyer trying a case against her former fianci Jack Turner, played by series star Rob Lowe. "The Lyon's Den" will air Sunday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT beginning this fall. As previously reported, Jewel has plans to star in "Wave," an independent film project she is developing and producing. She has previously appeared in the films "Standing Still" and "Ride With the Devil." A North American tour in support of Jewel's latest Atlantic album, "0304," kicks off Sept. 19 in North Charleston, S.C.
