She will now enter the top 40 next week, she moved in 3 weeks from #21 to 1.....!!!!! So that is an amazing journey for jewel.. and she was single of the week on MTV, which never happened, i think the dutch market really dominates the european markets with their love for jewel.. i am sure in holland jewel will have a reasonable big hit, the warner music guys expected/anticipated a nr#1 hit! greetings, michiel ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 22:40:27 +0200 From: "michiel" Subject: [EDA] Intuition was remixed on YORINFM hey jewelsters, ON YORINFM in HOLLAND the new single INTUITION from Jewel was remixed tonite. I catched it for a 2 1/2 minutes and it was already playing and it is nice to see deejays taking times to make jewel4s music more heard in holland. The deejays i emailed to remix it, and tonite i was suprised to hear the remix version of intuition! so i was happy to see jewel get more recognition in holland.. will jewel be the first domino to launch jewel4s career? lator michiel ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 08:13:02 -0700 (PDT) From: Jason Quattrini Subject: [EDA] Some gripes *sigh* I already missed the first part of the pre-sale for Jewel in Rhode Island. First, I checked ticketmaster a while ago and they listed tickets as going on sale August 18th. Then my email address I use for JeweLink got "updated" and is not working properly, so I haven't gotten any email in the past several weeks, so I missed her Leno performance and the pre-sale (which lists the tickets as going on sale the 9th, not the 18th :( ), because I didn't know they were happening yet. And, to top it all off, while Jewel: Unedited may be a good idea for some, I can't shell out the $40.00 for a subscription just so I can get presale tickets, which I used to be able to get through notification with JeweLink without paying anything extra. I can't imagine Jewel without him and I think it is fair to say we'll all miss his contributions to our llist well being greatly. I'll remember that there was nothing better than being at a Jewel show and bumping into him. He was always gracious to take the time to say hi and do some small talk. Doesn't everybody have great memories and stories about Alan :-) I hope we all hear about his future projects for many years to come. == Rob == "All the perfect drugs and superheroes wouldn't be enough to bring me up to zero," Aimee Mann ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 08 Aug 2003 19:06:23 -0400 From: Mike Connell Subject: [EDA] FWD: JeweLink: August 8, 2003 ( FAREWELL FROM MrBB) Here is the latest issue of JeweLink, directly from Jewel's "people", if you want to get a copy of this directly as each issue comes out, you can sub- scribe to it by sending a blank email to join-jewelink@list.jeweljk.com ******************************************** JeweLink - The Official Jewel Communications List ******************************************** In this edition of JeweLink: ***EUROPE TV UPDATES! ***REMINDER: THREE MORE TICKET PRESALES GOING ON NOW ***UPDATE! I guess I should start by saying it's been an amazing adventure being MrBB for the past 8 years. But like all good things eventually, this alter-ego phase of my life is coming to an end. I've had many unforgettable experiences and some of the most enjoyable have been the opportunities I've had to meet many of you at events and concerts over the years. I plan to expand my work in independant recording archive management and audio engineering, which is where my true passion has always been. I'm most comfortable behind the scenes working directly with music and helping facilitate the creative process. It's Jewel's creative process and prolific nature that has always intrigued me and how she applies it to recording and performing that maintains my interest and respect. I may stay on in this capacity, but will no longer be involved in other areas, including the websites, calendar management or communicating to you through JeweLink. These areas are now in the very capable hands of her new management. Theres been some ups and downs over the years, but overall, its been a genuine honor to work for all of you. You've been fascinating, hilarious and quite the challenge at times, but in my experience, you remain the most thoughtful and intelligent fanbase on the planet. I wish you all the best and hope to run into many of you again. Take care of each other and stay passionate about music. There's this song that has been driving me crazy b/c i don't know who sings it. I think, not sure, that it came out like 5 yrs ago. She sort of sounds like Fiona Apple. It's kind of rockish, and the guitar solos are bluesy. The only lyrics I can remember are "what I am, is what I am, and what you are"...and something about shallow water?
