Damn that sucks... too far of a drive for me :-/~Laura<< I'd bet a months' pay that there are many more tour dates to be announced, not to mention that the listing just posted is not official (even if from PollStar). EDA list history shows that early posting of dates from unofficial sources are quite typically incomplete, and often have *wrong* information. Also, keep in mind a recent JeweLink that said Jewel intends to hit more thana few non-traditional venues in many of her usual markets. Not sure exactly what that means, but I'm willing to bet it means more than just the NYC and Albany shows shown in that post you are referring to. While most early-scoop info from places like Pollstar does pan out, there is always more to come. I have to admit that recently I've not been paying much attention to her, but last night I fell in love all over again! The concert opened with her walking from the back of the arena to the stage while singing Heartbreaker. She sang all of her hits, and she seam just a quirky and fun as she does when you watch her on TV. Michiel just said: <> Last week, Michiel said: <> Ummmm.... Change your mind, much? Please make your mind up and get back to me - I find it hard to understand people who change their opinion more than they change their pants :P. To be completely honest, I think Intuition is gonna bomb in Europe. Yes, the European music scene is still very much into pop, but I really think that Intuition isn't original enough.... Europe does tend to like the "original" pop song = Meaning at least they can tell when a song sounds the same as 5 songs before it. Oh well... I'd love to see Jewel be more successful, but for selfish reasons, at the moment I'm actually hoping that Intuition doesn't do well in Europe. To be honest, I've spent a lot of time telling my friends how much I love her music - if they came to equate a song as bland as Intution with the music I like, I'd be embarrassed, quite frankly! It's kinda selfish but there ya go. Oh well, the album's not all bad - I'm still loving Fragile Heart anyway. Cheers, Tom. PS - Why's Michiel back so soon? Don't mean to be rude, but Sean Hooks didn't get this much of a chance and his opinions were at least backed up with sense. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Jul 2003 19:29:19 -0400 From: Mike Connell Subject: Re: [EDA] SJC: YAY for Michiel being back!!! Tom wondered: >PS - Why's Michiel back so soon? Don't mean to be rude, but Sean Hooks >didn't get this much of a chance and his opinions were at least backed up >with sense. The first part of Michiel's suspension is over. Four other's suspension is also over, while Kevin still has some time to serve and license plates to make. As for Sean Hooks, he got plenty of chances through the years, but he permanently sealed his door to the EDAs shut when (in his last post) he encouraged list members to go against the wishes of the people who gave us the JewelStock tapes and to re-tree it in CD version AND basically saying that Jewel...well, I won't repeat it onlist but if you want to read it online head to http://www.smoe.org/lists/jewel/archives/2002/v07.n173 Sean knew that his encouragement was one of the rules dictated when we got the tapes and he knew that I would uphold that until the day I leave this list (and basically also said so in his post), yet he encouraged it anyway. That alone would have gotten him a major suspension but his comment about the artist that this list exists for was something I could not ever turn the other way and let him back. On the record, it pained me deeply that I had to do this and boot him permanently. While Sean and I had more than a few heated discussions on AOL for nearly 6 years, we had a lot of fruitful/respectful ones too, and the one time I met him and spent time with him at Bearsville a few weeks back I really enjoyed getting to know him better etc etc etc. However, the mikec@smoe.org Mike has to separate myself from the ducksoup@quackquack.net Mike and do what I chose to do when I took ownership of this list in early 1997. In "Godfather" terms, it was a "business" decision and not a personal one. Yet, again, it pained me personally and still does. I miss our chats.
