I agree with you, there area a couple of people (2 in particular), who seem to be over reacting. Just because there might be a new manager doesn't mean there will be all these sudden changes. I think that in the end it would be Jewel's decision on whether to get bodyguards, dancers, and do merchandise marketing like you see with Britney, Nsync and pop stars like them. I'm sure that a new manager doesn't change the ticket prices either. It also doesn't mean that the stadiums will be full and it won't effect her airplay and whether she'll do more albums or put out DVDs. I may be wrong with one or two of these things, but the majority won't happen because of a new manager and others won't happen at all. Think logically guys, don't jump to off-the-wall conclusions. Anyway, that's my opinion. I don't know what the problem seems to be! When she switched management to Nedra, was there a big change? No? She's switching again, will the be a big change? No? A lot of you seem to think that the manger determines the tours, ticket prices, and basically everything to do with the tour. THe manager does not schedule it, determine prices, nothing like that. The record company, and promoters do that. They may push for more Tv apperances, interviews, and stuff like that. They're not going to say, "dress like this, sing like this, and dance..." Jewel is one of the most powerful artists on Atlantic Records, and in the business right now, and she can basically do whatever she wants. Atlantic will be kissing her ass for a while and will be letting her do anything she wants so that when her contract is up with her new album, she won't switch labels or anything like that. She is a huge money maker for them, and they know that. They aren't gonna set her up with a manger that's not going to work right and with the same state of mind as her. Ok I have to say you guys are overreacting in a MAJOR way about the new manager situation. First of all - a new manager doesn't automatically mean she's gonna start doing strip-teases on TRL or something. All it means is that Nedra is spread too thin and wants to focus her energy on the charity side of Jewel's business. So she's going to get somebody else to manage her career, and this time she's going for someone who actually works in the industry and has some experience. If she DOES sign with Irving Azoff, you should know he's been in the business for years. Yes, he represents Christina Aguilera now. However, he represented the Eagles in their heydey, Stevie Nicks, Steely Dan and many other "musicians". He has experience not only representing "popstars" (Christina) but also highly respected "musicians" (Stevie Nicks) and is therefore the perfect choice to guide Jewel's career - as she needs to strike a balance between those two things ("popstar" and "musician"). So don't automatically assume he's going to be putting bad ideas into her head. A good manager does what's good for their particular client - and this guy hasn't been in the business as long as he has for being "bad". The other thing is the ticket price thing. Michiel's prices that he listed were for the acoustic tour, which were in smaller venues. When the venues are small the prices are higher - it's the simple equation of supply and demand. Same goes for the band tour. On the upcoming tour we have two dates annouced. The Atlanta date is a 7000-seater amphitheatre, and the prices range from $30 to $45. The Rhode Island show is a small theatre with a capacity of about 3000. The prices are $45-60. This pattern will continue throughout the tour I'm sure. It's pretty much identical to how much she was charging last year. Hey Guys Well... it's looks like Intuition is over at pop radio. The song is now +9, and dropping every day. By this time next week she'll probably be decreasing pretty fast. It *might* not happen. It's not over till ... it's over. But it looks pretty close to over, to be honest. The good news is she managed to rise to #16 and hold off Beyonce and Michelle Branch for one last week. So it looks like her peak position at pop will be #16, which is damn good for Jewel. At Hot AC she's also almost done. Her gains are a little stronger (+46), and she rose to #10... but she looks pretty much done there too. The good thing about the song peaking at both formats simultaneously is the label have no excuse to hold back on the second single. So I'm sure we'll get an announcement about the second single within the next week or two. They really need to get it out there FAST. 0304 just arrived in stores, and Jewel needs airplay and awareness to continue so that it keeps selling. There is a chance the song rebounds next week. It wouldn't hurt to request it LIKE CRAZY for the next week and it might be saved. I'll let you know if this happens! The Aussie cd-single held strong at #8 despite several big debuts above it. She's #5 on the Australian airplay chart right now. The single also debuted at #41 on the New Zealand cd-single chart. I, for some reason, think Hot AC will start playing Intuition more now that it's almost done at Pop. Anyway, about the second single, have you guys heard that song Where Is The Love, by Black Eyed Peas?? It's doing very well and I just listened to it and its chorus is REALLY similar to Stand's, it's insane!! For that reason, releasing Stand now could be a mistake, I don't know.
