Click the file to start it up in Windows Media Player and then pause it. Wait. It's downloading into your temporary files. Wait for the little bar at the bottom to finish, and then go into C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files ... You'll see the file to copy to wherever you want it in your files. If you can't find it, rearrange the files so that the last file accessed is at the top.. You can do this for every file.. If you have a Mac, this won't be the same process, but I'm sure you can still do it. Just find your temporary internet file folder.. Sorry for ruining the illusion, J-Team. But for 40 bucks, people should be able to download. =) <> Scott http://scott.rocket-fish.org/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Jun 2003 22:28:11 -0400 From: Mike Connell Subject: [EDA] From the list owner - all please read Good evening all :-) As list owner, I feel it is time to step up and address the MANY here that are being more than a little loose and careless in their quoting of previous posts to the list. It'has gotten really bad of late and I need to mention that it is poor "nettiquette" to quote an *entire* post from someone else unless it....well, rather than me type it all out again, below is an ammended post from 1999 that I sent to this list on the same topic. Please take the time to read it all and to understand the point it drives. from 1999: *** Quoting A Post Of Another List Member *** When quoting a post from another list member, don't quote the *entire* post, especially a long one, unless it is absolutely necessary to support your point. Please edit out whatever is not needed. If you use an email system that does not allow editing when quoting, then please don't quote, or at least take the extra measures to type in what you are quoting. There are three basic reasons for this. 1) Everyone who had the inclination to read the original authors' email has done so already. They don't need to read the entire thing again, they just need a little of the original to be reminded and to also then support whatever point you wish to make with your reply post. 2) For record retention and reference reasons, ALL posts to this mailing list are effectively archived twice on smoe.org's'hardware....once in 'loose mail' format and a second time in the digest format. These archives obviously take up storage space and all the unneccessary quoting adds up, so saving space by quoting less saves storage space and of course saves $$$ for the list owner. Also, some list members archive the digests on their home systems, so quoting less will save hard drive space for them too. As an example, take a 1999 flamewar that started after a particularly nasty email was posted that cut down a particular musical group and anyone who liked or listened to them. Seven repliers to this email quoted the entire original post which thereby resulted in smoe having a total of 16 copies of that post effectively stored. As said, all this wasted space adds up, so please think about how much you need to quote. 3) Most members of this list subscribe to the digest version, which typically contains the previous 20 or so posts sent to the list, give or take a few. Trust me when I say this, reading the digest version of the list when there is an unreasonably large volume of quoted posts is QUITE the tedious and annoying task. If you do not know what a jewel-digest looks like or just want to see what one does, head to http://www.smoe.org/lists/jewel/archives/ , scroll down a page or two and click on any one of the 270+ digests we have had this year thus far. (click on a year folder up near the top of that site and you can see archived digests from previous years) Any thoughts or questions please feel free to reply. After the snub last week, I didn't think they would bother. It seems there weren't many advance reviews of the album this time around. Perhaps they didn't make advance copies available to critics? Not that I put any stock into what they say but it's always been a little disheartening to me to see her get trashed by so many of those folks. I always get the sense that they feel burdened that they even had to listen to it because they already knew they weren't going to like it. And although this review wasn't a glowing endorsement, it was nice to see someone (especially from this publication) admit that they somewhat enjoyed it.
