I just wanted to share some thoughts and observations. Personally, I enjoy the new album very much but I enjoy all the music that Jewel has made. I think all her songs have meaning to them and they sound great. You can she how she has evolved as a songwriter and a person. All of us go through changes, it is natural. However, for those of you who do not like the change, that is fine and you are entitled to your opinion. I respect your opinions. But for those of you who say that she sold out, I think that is kind of harsh and not justified. Let us remember that before Jewel became a success, she sold all that she had and moved into a van. Someone who has the courage to do that can withstand all kinds of pressure and that includes record label executives and who ever else for that matter. That is all I wanted to say. :) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 18:54:54 -0500 From: "Laura Ritchie" Subject: [EDA] sorry Sorry to everyone about my really bitchy post yesterday, I was in such a bad mood, and I had no one, nothing to take it outon. WOW! now that i have been listening to 0304 several times a day for a full week i think i can now give me review. i must say this is by far the album, other than poy, that sounds the most like jewel. you can hear it in her voice. she is really singing, the lyrics are amazing, the beats are there, and every song works. it is a brilliant album. overall i give this album an A++. well i was going to do a song by song, but i dont have time right now. and i think that i am just going to clump it all together, cus it all works so well together anyway. every song has high points to me. leave the lights on and haunted are definitely my favorites, haunted is one of her most increadible songs ever!! listening to it right now. the other day my friend and i were listening to 0304 and fragile heart came on and our other friend said it made her want to cry, i looked over and she had tears in her eyes, it was only the first line of the song... wow... that was really cool! man... every day my friend and i have the new songs stuck in our heads, one one moment and another the next moment... we would take a nap with one song stuck in our heads and wake up with a different one in our heads hahahaha... THIS ALBUM IS AWESOME!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!! A+++++++++++++ ok...... im done... i guess... alisa! - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MSN 8 helps ELIMINATE E-MAIL VIRUSES. (Not only that, it's fairly mainstream due to production by The Matrix and is really quite ludicrously catchy!) Still can't get into 0304, by the way. Hands? lol You know, there's an old joke that every [song|poem|whatever] is about sex. Take any song you want, and if you're expecting it to be about sex, you'll find enough references and imagery to support your belief. Post the complete lyrics to any Jewel song and I'll bet we can find all sorts of things that could be taken in a sexual context. :) Ray Wong PO BOX 6163 negativl at best.com, negativl at rayw.com Hayward, CA 94540-6163 Member #11537, Deborah Gibson International Fan Club Co-Founder and Charter Member, Sutton Foster International Fan Club ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 22:09:21 -0300 From: "Fabio (wnet)" Subject: Re: [EDA] Re: 0304 hmm... have you heard Break Me?
