ML if you didnt sing the first line to Intution thats cool, but I doubt anybody would have cared if you did. I sing any jewel lyrics I can at a show, regardless of the gender of the character supposedly speaking them. Also, congrats on your new angelname aand the reason for it. :) My review in a word, ehnotsogood. I had no idea there were going to be so many bands! Me and my friend went we got there at noon and jewel didnt start until 845. We could have slept in a few more hours and not really missed anything.Not to mention staying out of the hot florida sun a few more hours and possibly preventing sunburn. Sister Hazel and Jewel were the saving graces of the day. Gotta love Sister Hazel... they are very charity oriented and they are a band from florida with REAL talent, unlike all those bands that started at Transcontinental records or the former mouseketters turned singers. GAH. My friend and I had to leave during Jewels set because shes an Corrections officer and needed to be at work by 130am and her office was a 2 hour drive away. It was her first live Jewel Show we got to see about 5-7 songs, Foolish Games made her cry and It still gives me shivers after 6 years. Go Jewel As for all you EDAs who were bit...er griping, worried about her new sound SHUT UP! She played Intuition and at least 2 other new songs yet to be released including 2 become 1 and they sound AWESOME... My advice go scrounge for spare change, 0304 comes out a week from tuesday. Jewel hit the Top 20 at pop this week for the first time since.... Down So Long I presume. Her gains are solid (+263)... she's back into the Top 20 greatest gainers and next week she'll probably jump up as high as #18 or #17. Pity Michelle Branch, Pink, Beyonce and the Black Eyed Peas are poised to take over her soon! Hopefully one of those songs will slow down, or she can pick up speed. That's the annoying thing about the pop chart. Things move so fast that if a song is a slow burner it really does take a LONG time to make the Top 10. Still, if Jewel gains at +250 for the next 10 weeks she'll make the Top 10 easily... and that could definitely happen. It seems like it's settled into a pretty steady, consistent gain pattern... and I think that ultimately this song will be one of the biggest hits of the summer... but it'll take a LONG time to get there. At Hot AC things aren't quite so chirpy. She jumped 15 to 13 this week but her gains slowed way down to +13. I have a feeling she's about to lose her bullet at that format. Hardly surprising, since it's not a friendly Hot AC-friendly song...... but it'd be nice if it turned around cause the audience impressions will help her on the Hot 100. I hope it picks up again and goes Top 10. I doubt we can expect Top 5. The positive thing about the song not being too big at Hot AC is that the second single will get more of a shot. Break Me was shut out of Hot AC cause Standing Still was a HUGE song that was played a LOT for about a year and a half. In fact it still gets played a lot. That's about it! I'm hoping for another jump in singles sales this week, which should push her even further up the Hot 100. later Steve PS - Stand ROCKS. I'm so glad it's the 2nd single. What a bold decision! The lyrics are seriously awesome... some of Jewel's most thoughtful writing in a long time. The production is also very good. Well, lemme tell ya...it was definitely worth the 15 hour drive from Cincinnati to go to Starfest and see FL. The concert was AWESOME, she was so cute, and danced a little bit. So anyhow, back to the subject line... So, being from out of town, we were walking back to our car, and got lost. So, we saw a hotel (okay, so it just so happened that it had a tour bus in front of it) and thought we'd ask for directions there. So I saw who I thought at the time was Stuart Mathis, so I was like, okay, we are SO GONNA WAIT HERE! So I walk up to the limo driver, and asked if he knew where our garage was. He said yes, and he was done for the night so he could just drive us over there. We said okay. So we got in, and he asked if we had just gotten back from the concert. We said yes. He said, well, I just had Jewel in here, you guys just missed her! *OMG I'm GONNA PEE MY PANTS* LoL "In fact, she was sitting where you are sitting (to me)" "And she was drinking that can of Budweiser you are holding. Do you want to keep that?" OMG OF COURSE! So he took pics of us in the limo, and then I got a video clip of him verifying that she was in fact in that limo and did in fact drink that beer. So now I have Jewel's backwash in a can LoL Not quite sure how to drive home with an open container and not get in trouble...still trying to work out the details. Well, that's all for now, gotta start packing and see the beach one more time before we leave. Thanks for the help, everyone! I really LOVE this song, lyrically its great, and musically as well. My only problem is the chorus was sang a little too high, making it very pop. If only she sang it like she did the chorus of sweet temptation, with that power and tone. But I bet this song is GREAT live with all the production gone. Its so damn catchy! Its really a great song, even if the chorus is very pop. And much more direct with its message than Intuition, so people will have a harder time saying crap.
