Actually, Jewel's toured down there at least three times, and I know at least one of them was a full blown tour with about 15 shows between Australia, New Zealand and another country who's name escapes me at the moment. This was pre-This Way. I also think there was another similar tour pre-This Way, but it may have been a promo tour (but I know that one also had a LOT of dates....might have been just before or after the Tiny Lights Tour) Mike ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 May 2003 22:34:04 -0400 From: GWJewelGrL@aol.com Subject: [EDA] divas live and 5 jewels Wow, i just watched Intuition. What they did was so awesome. Having Jewel lookalikes for each difft part of the video and having them in her costumes and dancing around. They all started together at the beginning, each lip syncing till Jewel appeared at the end. I actually thought the first one was the real Jewel for a second and then realized what they were doing. It was so cool, and seeing her band there was great too. I love those guys (could do without the backup singers, but oh well). Audience seemed to really respond to the song too! All in all, it looked like Jewel was having a lot of fun. Id love to hear her sing some more *the mystic angel* Jordana "I'd rather see the world from another angle."-Jewel ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 May 2003 19:45:08 -0700 From: "Missy" Subject: [EDA] What people are saying: The Intuition Video. So I post on this message board with people who you wouldn't imagine to like Jewel are discussing her video & defending her against someone who didn't think she was clever enough. Here is the conversation. "I think it's pretty hilarious. The best part is the people's comments..."Jewel's music is much better now that she dances." She looks great and gets to have her cake and totally eat it at the same time. I don't think I like the song, but at the same time it's stuck in my head. Anyhow, good call Jewel. - -s- " Replies: - - "The sad thing about the whole thing.....is that this video is in like, the top five, on TRL. Pure irony. The kids don't get it at all. It's just about as ironic as MTV pushing Josie and the Pussycats when the whole thing was a rip aimed at them. " - -"Wasn't she the one who always talked about not being all glam and dolled up and shit? And they're like, hosing her down and wearing fireman outfits with red rubber miniskirts. I haven't seen such a blatant lack of imagination since Britney carried the snake. It's worse than a Budweiser commercial. " - -"That's the joke. She goes from normal to way too over the top slutty and glam, all flash and doing product endorsements IN the video. It's awesome. " The second reply is seriously getting beaten on. Nobody likes the girl who wrote it anymore.:) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 May 2003 23:17:52 EDT From: JeWeLNuMbEr1FaN@aol.com Subject: [EDA] diva duets Just got done watching, JEWEL looked AMAZING shes soooo gorgeous!! She did awesome i think, but i never think Jewel does bad...And I loved Lisa Marie's performance too, with Pat Benatar that was sooo cool! But whenever they sing at the end you know how they all going out singing, Jewel could soo blow them all away if she belted out like she does in wwsys live ya know...but oh well, i thought it was pretty good!! ~MicheLe ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 May 2003 22:40:22 -0500 From: "Lew - New World Warehouse" Subject: [EDA] Jewel complaints I really think it's funny that everytime it seems Jewel comes out with a new album, a whole lot of people complain. Just an observation, nothing more...I think a lot of people just enjoy complaining and criticizing. Whatever. Either way, I like the video, I like the song, but that's just me. I do think the term "sell-out" is extremely overused these days. Seems like anytime an artist has the combination of making money and doing something people don't like, they are selling out. Either way, hey, you don't like the music - don't buy it. It's a simple solution. Lew www.coilback.com Wonder how many people will now in turn complain about this post... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 May 2003 23:40:33 EDT From: StuartnDee@aol.com Subject: [EDA] FOUR SONGS AND THREE SONGS WITH JEWEL WE NEVER HAD BEFORE!!! I wonder what Michiel will say now!!! O that Divas show sure sucked!! I LOVED IT!!! JEWEL DID FOUR SONGS AND THREE SONGS WE NEVER HAD BEFORE!!! She sounded so good with Stevie Wonder!! I hope she does a cover album someday. :)Dee ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 May 2003 22:56:08 -0500 From: "Jake" Subject: [EDA] DIVAS Jewel was great tonight! I think the best performance of the night was Jewel and Beyonce with Rollin on a river. They were having so much fun dancing together, they got pretty close, pretty much humping each other. Intuition was really cool too. I loved all the Jewel clones. That was very creative. It was very cute when she sang with Stevie Wonder and said "thank you , this is a dream come true." She looked fabulous as well, 3 very different looks, all of them were HOT! I loved the last dress she wore. 3 different hair styles as well, they were all great. All of the "divas" sounded good, with the exeption of Mary J. Blidge, I don't get the big deal about her. All she did was scream for 5 minuites. Anyway, I thought it was a great show overall.
