This song ROCKS!!! I love the brassy stuff in the background. I also love the beats. I dont like Intuition...theres just something about it that bugs me. Ive listened to it 1000 times but everytime i just cant get myself to like it no matter how much I want to. I was hoping that the album was gonna be more tranceish or more dancelike, and this is defenitely more dancelike. I think it is probably very true that none of Jewel's songs will be parodies. So i have another idea about the titles: the songs w/ the pop shorthand will be the ones that have the comments on pop culture. Or maybe i'm just trying to make excuses for something that leaves my mouth feeling a little dirty. All in good fun though; Jewel does have a quirky sense of humour. I must say though, the intuition video looks really good to me and it is what i am most excited about from 0304. It is definitely a straight out spoof. Hopefully that will drive the point into some people's heads that intuition is, while not itself a spoof, clearly more than a typical pop song; it is self aware and has a bit of a message (the idea i think radio djs have not gotten). I am less than wild about this direction for her, but i think that her talent manages to shine through no matter how its packaged or what she's using it for (social commentary, mood uplifting, etc.). Finally, Kira, 3 cheers for U! (heh heh, sorry) I agree that the EDAs are on the whole a very underappreciated bunch. We shouldn't let a few rotten experiences lower our collective morale. I get a lot of silly mail through this list, but just as often i receive thoughful commentary on Jewel and occasionally other issues that is a pleasure to read. I remember a while ago, before this way was released and talk often strayed from jewel since she was pretty inactive, a thread was going about the nature of education which got me thinking and has led me on a path that has really changed my life. This isn't meant as nostalgia, i think that is just as likely to happen these days. I've never made friends with a fellow EDA, and i wish i could've been around to see the "old days". But i am honored to see the current days and i almost guarantee that in 3 years everyone will be writing about how much they miss these days! That is basically a loooong way of saying, thanks edas.
