I read a lot of cool things going to happen with the release of the new video. Is there any chance that that cool free concert in New York in Central Park will be televised??? i live in holland, and i never heard so far Intuition on radio here. But i did download the song with help of an american fan who i donated a 1$ for the song , and i really love the song. I think Jewel is a clever girl and knows how to make beautiful music. Jewel4s lyrics are unique and not many people in the music industry can write songs like Jewel. I am sure it will sell a lot, also because Jewel is being backed up by Schick. Her razor deal for the intuition shaver earned her around 500.000$. But i think Jewel is still creatively the best artist around. The way she can improvise, how she can change her music style is just cool. And she is a clever girl, 29 year old and trying to do something new, something refreshing. If the whole record will be like intuition then i will be happy because listening to Intuition makes you very happy. It has all the chemistry and power that a cool song needs. In europe in the charts it will sell straight to number one . If they promote it good, and plug it to the radiostations in a good way then this song can be number one in a lot of countries. The video that has been made also must be really a cool one. A departure of her old videos, which always were intruiging as well! I love all the sounds of Jewel4s five records that she released so far, because you can hear she grows. You can listen to her lyrics, her voice, the instruments that are on the record. It is a voyage to a new decade, and jewel will be proud touring her new record. Will she tour it for a long time, or will she just do short visits to worldareas like Australia/Europe/Uk/and perhaps Scandanavia?? I am sure it will sell loads, and Jewel will please everyones ear with the sound that she has been working on for a couple of months so far. It will be Jewel4s biggest succes of her carreer, no doubt about that fans! Intuition makes me happy, it is as good as Standing still, which i still think could have got way better perception by the radio and the fans!! But this will give jewel new opportunities the sound on intuition and the new record is a cool departure from jewel4s roots hehe, i mean i ask to videopro will there be one ACCOUSTIC song on the new record? bye Michiel http://www.jewelkilcher.nl the dutch site for jewel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Apr 2003 09:48:57 +1000 From: Stephen Hallowes Subject: [EDA] Jewel before J-Lo Hey Guys There's a site on the net that gives a brief summary of the radio adds situation every week and this is what they have to say this week: At Top 40 radio, meanwhile, look out for *Jewel*s "Intuition" (*Atlantic*), *Jennifer Lopez*s "Im Glad" (Epic) and *Jason Mraz*s "The Remedy" (*Elektra*) to rack up the most adds for the week. Jewel before J-lo!!! SWEET!! Not sure if that's listed in order... but they generally put the MOST added at the front... very exciting.... Steve. PS - isn't it nice that jason mraz is having such success at radio now? It's nice to see someone that Jewel really supported and gave a helping hand to garner some success! Not to mention the fact that he's talented and seems like a nice guy :) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Apr 2003 23:45:50 -0300 From: "Fabio (wnet)" Subject: [EDA] Atlantic page On Atlantic page, they have Jewel and the new single, but the funny thing is what they are saying: >>Jewel's Back With a Brand New Sound! Listen to Jewel's new single, 'Intuition' below or become one of the first to own the 'Intuition' digital single. For just 99c you can buy, download and burn a high-quality MP3 file of the song to play whenever - and wherever- you want! I cannot believe the "whenever wherever" thing!! Even they are comparing Jewel to Shakira! It was funny though... The last show I only got a dozen or so requests so I just did them myself. If this one turns out popular I'll probably do B&P or seed it out for others to share. Just send me an email with "XM Lowell" as the subject and I'll put your name down. First, picture this - a freak April snow storm, the only XM Radio I have is in my car, parked out at the end of my driveway and I am dragging power equipment out to my driveway in freezing rain and sleet to plug in for tonight's show. Well I got it taped and it sounds great - I have it broken into tracks and will have it on CD shortly. What is really cool is it sounds like Alan played with the audio channels on Chime Bells. If you listen to it with headphones on it really resonates with a slight echo. The only problem is that I want to try to remove the two "XM Cafe" station ID markers that ruin the show. Plus, keep in mind that this is an edited show - and clearly there was a good portion cut out (as in every song we'd want to have) as you can see below. But hey it's still a good set. == Rob == XM Cafe Setlist: Jewel - Lowell Mass Show Nov 15, 2002 Near You Always Jesus Loves You Standing Still Intro - hello New Wild West Life Uncommon Hands Break me Intro "cellphones off" Morning Song Cold Song Foolish Games YWMFM intro "I sing like Kermit" WWSYS Encore: Chime Bells Note of interest ... this is the actual set list from the show that night ... not the recording: Near You Always, Passing Time, talk, Carnivore, Everything Breaks, story-> Sometimes It Be That Way, Jesus Loves You, Standing Still, The New Wild West, Life Uncommon, Hands, Break Me, Morning Song, Cold Song, story->Race Car Diver, Foolish Games, You Were Meant For Me, Kermit Intro->Who Will Save Your Soul Encore: Per la Gloria d'adorarvi, SCC talk, signing session and chatting with audience, Chime Bells ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Apr 2003 01:18:36 -0300 From: "Fabio (wnet)" Subject: [EDA] Jewel and Jazzy Jeff I found this: Jewel Is Working With DJ Jazzy Jeff Sunday, November 10 @ 00:20:28 EST Chaunce Hayden of Steppin' Out magazine spoke with Jewel about reports she was getting into the rap business after hearing she's been working with DJ Jazzy Jeff. "I have been working with Jazzy Jeff in Philadelphia," she admits. "Maybe that's what people are talking about. Jazzy Jeff asked if he sent me some tracks if I would write melodies and lyrics to them." As to whether she's a fan of rap music, Jewel said, "I like rap because it's very similar to poetry and free verse. I understand that style very well. I still haven't started it, though. So I don't know what it will or won't be and I really don't know if I would consider what I'm doing rap, to tell you the truth." It's very cool that Jeff asked Jewel to write some lyrics for him.
