There are not many who fit that. DYLAN, LENNON, for example. In a personal e-mail to me, he said "F*** You." That was the extent of that email. In addition, I happen to like a song by someone often criticized on this list for being a generic pop icon. Listen to Britney Spears' "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman." The lyrics are incredibly introspective, especially considering much of her other stuff. And she probably didn't even write it, but watching her perform that on MTV, well, it was powerful. I know everyone has their own opinions of EVERYTHING, which I think is great.
