Any one know why this list >is setup to reply to the sender instead of the list. 1) So that private replies meant to go to the author of the replied-to post do so, rather than the list. 2) Most email programs have a "problem" with mailing lists set up with replies going to the list. If you hit reply-all, both copies get sent to the list. So, with that kind of list set-up, in order to send a private reply to the author of the post, one must cut & paste the email address into the To field. 3) It's easy enough to hit reply-all to send a copy to the list and the author of the post. At least two-thirds of this lists' members are on the digest version of the list, so if the list was set up to reply to the list, the digest-subscribing author of a post you were replying to would not see your reply until the next digest comes out. All in all, the set-up as it is now (replies by default go to the author of the post) has advantages that outweigh the other option (replies by default sent to the list). A vast majority of the moe.org lists are set up this way. A friend of mine passed away last August. He was in a coma for a week or two and then they just let him go. Since then, every single time I've heard Fat Boy, I've just lost it. Tears all over the place, but the song and the friend of mine that died have nothing in common. He wasn't overweight, was never picked on as a child or anything like that. But there's something in the music, does it every time. I totally second Larry on that !! When I was reading Michiel's posts before I met him, he was kinda freaking me out, but now that I've been to a few shows with him in Europe, I know he's just the crazy dutchjewel fan (in a good way I mean). In the original song, entitled "Nikos", her name was Linda, which was in fact the real name of Niko's mother. Sometime in the late 1990s Jewel changed the name of the song to "Brother" and the name of Niko's mother in order to protect their anonimity. I believe a few other things were changed in the song too. Jewel has an ability to make the littliest phrase or word mean so much and become extremely profound when she sings. Just hearing her say "P.S. I love you, your sister Jewel" sends you into the deep end. I love how she can do that. Another Nikos questions though. On my copy of Portland from the NWW tour, she asks if her brother Nikos was there, asks him why he was late and if he got caught in traffic, and then introduces him to the audience. I don't know if Jewel ever told anyone or if its just too personal, (She certainly deserves a private life like anyone else,) but when did she meet back up with Nikos, as the song ends with him being taken away to Oregon with his mother? If anyone knows, I'm curious. Peace, Mark _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? It literally brought some tears to my eyes (she did that a lot that night, she sang with a LOT of emotion the whole night) >Another Nikos questions though. If anyone knows, I'm curious. I imagine it's true that Nikos and his mother went to Oregon. When she wrote the song she said it was her only truly auto-biographical song, so I imagine nothing in it was untrue.
