I am not even American (I'm Australian) but I find that subject highly offensive, the way in which you have labelled ALL Americans. As well, I find offensive how you can even make comparisons about comments directed toward you with some kind of holy war. Talk about getting melodramatic. Alisa's post was perfectly well-founded and justified, and I agree with her 110%. We are well aware and have no doubt that you believe in what you say. That is not in question. However, when you inundate the list with utterly repetitive and long-winded posts where you profess your undying love for Jewel and profess to be the leader of her cause, it becomes extremely annoying and seems more than a tad obsessive. No one on this list, I believe, has ever slapped you in the face. That's another example of you over-reacting. You have to understand the difference between a personal attack, and feedback or opinion. I have been on this list for years, but have not posted in a long time. I only post this because this has really been bugging me. You do not need to continually remind us how often you have seen Jewel in concert, or how sexy you think she is, or how bad her management is, or how desperate you are for a live DVD. Why? Because we already know. You've told us many times before. My advice to you is that if you continue to flood the list, then grow a thicker skin and be prepared to face any other comments about you. What exactly is a "Texas Bush guru"? I AM a Texan (and not someone for Mass. or New Haven, Connecticut who came down here to get rich off our oil and then get elected to the White House... either of them.. :-) ) but have no idea what a "Texas Bush guru" is. Does not sound like a compliment though, so I am going to pretend that a Texas Bush guru is: "A person will aquatinted with the tumbleweed plant that plagues parts of West Texas." ;-) And forgive Michiel, since he already has enough detractors here, and besides, he has not spent enough time here in Tejas to appreciate the fine difference between what is grown here, and what is imported from New England.. ;-) Rowdy Ps(why do I have the feeling that now I am going to get plenty of flame-esque emails from EDAs in New England? :-) ) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Mar 2003 08:46:31 -0600 From: "Rob Hanning" Subject: [EDA] NJC: new Poltz disc pseudo-update For those of you wondering what's up w/ the release of Steve's new disc, here's a link: http://www.poltz.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2921 Nothing on an actual release date... just a post to the board to soothe the impatient faithful. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. Mike, or anyone else on the list, I'd be eternally grateful if anyone could direct me to an online store where I could buy a copy of this show. I've searched the major online stores, Jewels site, and have had no luck. This isn't challenging you about the piracy thing, I totally agree. I just really want to buy this show ^_^! Well that's nice and all that. Doesn't make it right though. It's still one of the worst copyright infringements one can do, trading duplicates of product that the artist and/or their management/record company sold. Those other lists probably do not have the RIAA and the record company of said artist keeping an eye on things AND doing something about infringements that they are on the warpath about or decide to jump into when they see it on that list. It was only 2 years ago one EDA list member got into very hot water with them, but it all simmered down to a reasonable conclusion. There might be other cases I did not hear about or was contacted about. I just wanted you guys to know that my school (East Carolina University-in Greenille, North Carolina) has gotten Jason Mraz to agree to perform at "Barefoot on the Mall," our annual outdoor festival held on Thursday, April 24, 2003 this year. I'm looking forward to meeting him and seeing him perform live since I missed all the Jewel shows (since she didn't come to NC at all last summer/fall) when he performed. Anyway, it's free to all students, and I'm not sure what the rule is about it being open to the public. (I can let you know more about that, but i'm pretty sure they let you in if you're there-it is outdoors)The other bands playing are "Antigone Rising" (an all girl rock band that are pretty good from what I've heard) and our headliner is "The Beatnuts." They are hip hop and also fun. The winner of Battle of the Bands also plays the opening slot. Anyway, Jason Mraz will probably perform between 3-4:00PM or so (i'm not sure yet-the whole thing goes from 12:00PM-7PM). If any North Carolina (or anyone!) EDA's are close to Greenville, you should come out and have a fun day. Other than music, there are games (like the climbwing wall, sumo-wrestler suits, laser tag, bungee rope game, free food, caricatures, photo booth, etc..) You can e-mail me if you are interested and want more info. I will know more in the middle of this month. Thanks for reading if you're here..
