I'm wondering though - didn't they try to release You Were Meant for Me first in that weird remix version with the Sean Penn video ? I thought they tried to do that, it kinda went nowhere and then they release WWSYS (then came back to the original version of YWMFM later). I don't know, but I could have swore the Sean Penn video was the first one she did. Mike ? MrBB ? There were two "You Were Meant for Me" videos. The first was by Sean Penn. Penn is a great director. (I only saw for the first time a few months ago.) This sweet video showed Jewel in a room with scrapbook clippings all over the walls of her place. "Jupiter" (directed by Matthew Rolston) would be my second. I loved the strange and intense imagery. > if i could pick a third i think it would be "Standing Still" cus she looked so damn happy in it. Doesn't it make Jewel's fans happy when she's happy? The indian landscapes with rock fetishes add a unique religious perspective. - -jack Get your Free E-mail at http://tupac.nasha.com ___________________________________________________________ Get your own Web-based E-mail Service at http://www.zzn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Feb 2003 20:00:24 -0500 From: Mike Connell Subject: [EDA] FWD: JeweLink NewsFlash: April 26, 2003 Concert Date Announced Here is the latest issue of JeweLink, directly from Jewel's "people", if you want to get a copy of this directly as each issue comes out, you can sub- scribe to it by sending a blank email to join-jewelink@list.jeweljk.com ******************************************** JeweLink - The Official Jewel Communications List ******************************************** Hi All, On Saturday, April 26th, Jewel will be headlining a benefit concert on the second night of the Art In The Square Festival in Southlake, Texas. JEWEL due out June Jewel has a joke title for her fifth album: "Artsy ans Shit". "I just want to hear Regis say it," she says. On the CD Jewel spikes her usual guitar folk with some psychedelic and Ray Of Light style dance beats, which she says were inspired by last years remix of her single Serve The Ego. This time she brought in Shakira producer Lester Mendez to help with the new, more club-oriented material. "I don't just sit at home and listen to Bruce Sprinstein's Nebraska," she says. "I love to go out and dance." ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Feb 2003 21:40:49 -0500 From: "jake skyles" Subject: [EDA] also in rollingstone I just posted about the new title for Jewel's album mentioned in Rollingstone, "Artsy and Shit." After actually reading the whole issue there is also something cool in the reviews section. It's bascially a bunch of singles out now that have rolling stone's review and then Jewel's comments on the songs. One I thought was interesting was Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow's, "Picture," Jewel was asked to do that song with Kid and she turned it down, I for one am glad, I hate that song. I guess Rollingstone is starting a new thing where they ask different artists to review the new singles in every issue. You should definatly check it out. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Feb 2003 21:44:20 EST From: GnG849@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] also in rollingstone Wow. Obviously someone other than myself is tracking through that part of the recording! :-) ************The real reason I'm posting is to challenge everyone out there, especially the *OLD* ANGELS to come up with the EARLIEST angelfood recording out there... The earliest I've got is 11/04/1994 - Wiltern Theatre, LA, CA (other than the Innerchange Compilations) If anyone out there can come up with an earlier date I'd love to know what it is... If it is that Wiltern Theatre show where she played before Liz Phair and sings Old Lovers House with Steve Poltz on one song then it is 04/11/95 not 11/04/94. -Dee ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Feb 2003 23:50:44 -0500 From: "James Brogdon" Subject: [EDA] Most Prized Jewel-abilia Now I'm pretty sure that no one can beat Dave's prized Jewel possession, but for what he paid he should've been able to sleep in her bed... or on her couch, at least.. Kidding, anyway, I was feeling bad about all this Jewel-junk I'd collected lately, but after I went through and actually catalogued it, I didn't feel so bad! I actually don't have that much! Time for more! :-) I think my prized possession is probably the first autograph I got in person- I was --so-- close you know? I had gone to this Chicago Theatre show on 07/14/02, managed to get a recording, designed a cover for it, and then had it signed at the next show I made it to, in November at Indiana University during the New Wild West tour.. Dave and I were actually headed back to our cars but saw a small group of people gathered around an exit, with a minivan backed up to it, and I decided it'd be worth it to stick around- 15 minutes later, my first autograph and the first time standing toe to toe with this woman who's voice- a single attribute about her physical being- had kept me interested for so long. Long story short, that's probably my 'most prized possession'. Anyone else care to share?
