Anyway I want to do up a setlist for the concert and being a relative newcomer to Jewel and her music there is a song on it that I have never heard. Some of the lyrics go as follows (and please forgive me if they are not quite word perfect!) Birds up in the sky they can see it way up high,we're a perfect pair and All birds know it 1 and 1 is 2,all the bees see it....dummy...why don't you I kind of figured seeing as there are a lot of long time Jewel fans on this list that someone could help me out. The other interesting thing about it was that she sang Cleveland(I didn't realise that the song was so old...for some reason I thought it was written for the This Way CD) Anyway if somebody can help me out it would be very much appreciated. We are still part of this list...just not posting currently. Within a few years, she will be old enough to post here herself. I always pass the great news of Jewel on to Ciara...she is most excited about the new book of Jewel coming in June. Jewel is still her number one, most favorite singer of all. But it's getting hard for me because she is asking lots of questions about some of her songs...such as, what does abortion mean and what is making love against the wall, ect, ect. I have no answers for her...she is just too young to know this sort of thing and that's what i tell her. I just do not know how to properly deal with this yet. Currently, Ciara is in a community play ..."Annie Jr." A lady from a local newspaper came to interview Ciara tonight. The whole interview was mostly all about Jewel. It started with the question, "who is your favorite singer?" Then she was asked, "what is your favorite flower?"....Ciara said, "daffadils, just like Jewel!" Ciara told her Jewel's stories of singing with the wolves in Alaska and about Jewels own private liner jet and all the lightning in the sky....(she surely has this story mixed up a bit). She told the lady all about Jewels blue guitar with stars on it and how she copied Jewel and put silver star stickers all over her own guitar. She gave out the Eskimo ice cream recipe but somehow has added buffalo meat to that recipe. She told the lady about all the Jewel clothes, posters, scrapbook, ect. that she has. The lady agreed that Jewel does have a very beautiful singing voice and Ciara told her "thank you!" That was really funny and we all laughed. At the end, "i" did say a few words about "Ciara"....i can hardly wait to see what the interview will print in the paper. Will it be about Jewel or Ciara!!? After Jewel's last Michigan concert, we did go to NYC for the summer. It was a total culture shock for both of us. It was very scarry the first few days, but we quickley adjusted. All the people were so nice to us. Ciara insisted she saw asama bin ladin (driving a cab) as we were moving our things up to the apartment...it took two weeks to convince her that it was not him. She so enjoyed the broadway shows...Beauty and the Beast was her favorite. We are going back to NY again for the summer. We had so much fun there. Sorry for another story, i guess i just can't help it! Peace and Love to all the EDA's out there...Sheila. - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Sunday, February 16, 2003 1:55 AM Subject: [EDA] NJC: Lost EDAs > Hey... > What ever happened to Sheila and her daughter? I've had trouble with my computer crashing, so it must not have gone through. A while back I emailed every one of my branches explaining that my CD burner is on the fritz and it may be a while. I asked if anyone wanted their money back, but everyone said they'd wait and see. I almost have a full set now (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't) plus yesterday we purchased a whole new computer system so it's no longer even a problem. But if you want your money back, all you have to do is tell me, as I said before. The singer says she's experimenting with R&B rhythms and electronic music and tells fans to expect "fierce grooves and dance beats and futuristic keyboard and retro '80s synth sounds." She also divulges that the as-yet-untitled album will be produced by Lester Mendez, whom she credits for co-writing most of the new songs as well. ... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Feb 2003 13:02:18 EST From: W1GGY2@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Re: jewel-digest V8 #55 Llarry the Llama Llawyer wrote: > Our NJ pals (Amy et al.) can probably tell us about the whereabouts and > do-abouts of Eric Montas. Eric aka Crashboy has been off the EDA list for quite a while. He is actually now a resident of California, hanging with Rich Melko and Luna in Sacramento. Which is great considering they didn't want her to, because she was too young. :P I guess some people missed the whole point of my last email. I WASN'T trying to talk about Avril in paticular... i just used her as an example. Its not about that... its about... if someone talks about an artist LIKE avril.. or a while back it was Kelly Clarkson, people get all pissed off and say they're not real musicans, etc. But when people talk about say, Tori Amos, Sarah M... people don't care...because they are "real mucians" and that is just their opinion. Hasn't it ever occured to some of you that not EVERYONE likes tori amos and sarah m...etc? And some people DO like Avrl, kelly clarkson, BRITNEY SPEARS even. There should be no reason to compare the artists, or flame a person for liking them. I wasn't trying to do a Avril/Jason thing. i hope now we can put this subject behind us and talk more about Jewel. - --Jewel Worshiper-- http://www.angelfire.com/sk/killorgeteven/pale_shade_of_grey.html (my Jewel Page) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jewel is GOD WWJD --- What Would Jewel Do "the hardest thing in the world is to live in it" ~buffy "cheerleaders are dancers who have gone retarded" ~bring it on >From: Paul Schreiber >To: jewel20rox@hotmail.com >CC: Jewel >Subject: Re: [EDA] NJC: Mraz/Lavigne >Date: Mon, 17 Feb 2003 23:50:21 -0800 > >diana wrote: > > > the whole difference between Jason and avril is that Jason opened for > > Jewel... and 1 night... I'll explain why I'm asking this in a second...but anyway... Did Jewel and Ty get married? OK, let me state my case. I've been on this list for about 8 years now, but I hardly read any of the posts anymore. To be honest, it's probably been about a year or so since I have. Back in the day when I did keep up, many, many people emailed and said they read they had gotten married, and it always started an arguement. I was talking to my friend about it, and she told me she heard Jewel and Ty got married a little while ago. Because I haven't kept up with this, I wanted to double check with a source that I KNOW would know the answer (it's also easier than sorting through all of the digests). SOOOO, please don't yell at me for brining up a topic that I know gets people angry. Just a little bit of curisosity. Anything in hollywood is pretty well known. It would be in print somewhere. It is possible though. On another note, I don't read the posts much anymore either. I think there is too much negativity and people take things so seriously. Love Megan, the smiley angel =0) ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V8 #56 **************************
