They're from some event she attended at the Bellagio (an opening or something). Lots of shots of her with Luke and Owen Wilson, Bruce Willis, Fred Durst and others. It looks like she's put her hair back to blonde. Me and my cousin will be going "on tour" with jewel for 10 days this summer. (assuming that she will still be touring this summer/fall!) We will probably start off in the area (we're in milwaukee...will probably start at her show here or in chicago....waiting for dates!) And then going for 10 days and doing all the shows within the time period. Depending on the ticket prices, we will be doing "cheap" tickets for one show, normal price for the next, and so on, and then get first few rows for the last night that we will be there. We plan on eather staying at campsites, or cheap hotels, but were kinda waiting for some dates so we can get this planned and finalized well before hand. If anyone is interested in joining us or joining up on the way, even if you can't go all ten days, e-mail me. We wouldn't have to ride together or anything, but would like to see some familiar faces in cities we've never been to. Also, if you are living close to concert venues and you think Jewel might come there and would let us "set up camp" in your backyark after the show until the next morning, we'd really appreicate it! Just email me and let me know. "What on earth is she doing?" you ask. "Weve heard so many rumors, even that shes doing a rap record!" Well, let me try to explain... This record is all about fun . . . I love this record. Im combining all types of music, which wont surprise most of you that have been to a few of my live shows . . . *How it all began * I have always loved R&B rhythms, from Muddy Waters stuff to modern stuff. I am also fascinated with electronic music, and experimenting with dance stuff like on 'Serve The Ego. Ive been really into wanting music to move you, not just your heart and thoughts, but your body. I wanted this record to make you want to dance and nod your head along as you drove and make you feel young and carefree and passionate. So theres fierce grooves and dance beats and futuristic keyboard and retro 80s synth sounds, with acoustic sounds and organic string instruments and hand-clapping and whistling, and then of course I strove to put thoughtful, crafted lyrics on it all. Simple, right? The record is as lyric-driven as my last, but it is equally rhythm-driven. Its a fun record and has been a blast to make so far, and should be even more fun to perform live. Any questions? Im producing the CD with the same guy I wrote most of the tracks withLester Mendez. Hes rad. Very talented and a very cool vibe. Thats all for now. Ill report more later and tell you about the awesome players on the record.
