The only shows that weren't sold out were the really big ones - like the 15 000 seaters. The rest of it was. I wish I could see some actual figures on how much the tour made etc - I'm sure billboard magazine has a list of the top 50 or something, and Jewel is probably included in that. But they only announce the top 10.. and there's no way Jewel could compete with that... also.. i liked that tour suggestions post so I'm gonna add to that: 1. a DIFFERENT SETLIST everynight! I know it's easier for a band to be tight and polished when playing the same set each night... but I would love it if Jewel would play a different set each night - even if she wrote the setlist beforehand. It makes things more interesting. 2. screens would be good... but this comes down to what the venue offers. See, venues provide that kind of thing... it's kinda like the PA. Artists don't bring their own PA generally... and they don't bring their own screens. If a venue is equipped with screens, then they use them. Unless your show is very theatrical and certain sized screens are necessary etc... like Britney probably has her own screens. But Jewel doesn't need that stuff. 3. I like the idea of selling copies of the shows off the soundboard from her website... so you can buy your own show.. that'd be awesome! 4. the same band. I think that'd help with the setlist thing - if she works with the same musicians. Because they're already familiar with her and her music so they can start being a little more experimental and they don't need that time to get used to each other or whatever. I think since she can guarantee them work in the summer, she'll be able to get them back. She lost the other band cause she took so much time off so they had to move on to other things to earn a living. These guys know that they're gonna be needed in a few months time. 5. the voting thing would be COOL! I would love to vote for a setlist. I remember No Doubt did that one year - you could vote for one non-album song to be played at each show. But people started voting more than once and ruining it so I think they ditched it at some point in the tour. 6. I liked the backdrop idea from the this way tour.. they should continue using stuff like that. Also the lighting was good so hopefully they can continue that as well. 7. For her to COME TO AUSTRALIA DAMMIT! that's about it. Steve ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Dec 2002 00:56:19 EST From: SullMa84@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Jeweljk.com Tour Videos
