Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans are indeed a must have if you've never tried them. Along with the usual toasted marshmallow and watermelon flavors, you can also find "booger", "horseradish", "grass", "black pepper", and "sardine". Alas, in this world, there is no vomit flavored bean. At least not that I know of. I haven't tried your mother's cooking. Okay, I'm just being silly, don't take it personally. If there is a Borders books and music store in Canada, you will be able to find them there in little red bags by the register. Other than that, try shopping online at http://www.hpwizardstore.com they sell em in bulk for $19.99 (US) for a whole pound! Way better than five dollars (US) or more for a little baggie. Anyway, I'm sure they have 'em in Canada since they have 'em in Europe all over the place. Luck, Love, & Lollipops, Lara P.S. My friend just IMed me and told me that there IS a vomit flavored bean now. The original bag released in December 2000 didn't have it... Now there is also dirt, mustard, and she can't remember what else. One segment features Lenedra Carroll discussing her role as Jewel's mother and manager, and her business philosophy. This will air in some areas this weekend, Saturday 12/7 and Sunday 12/8. In most areas, this segment will air the following weekend Saturday, 12/14 and 12/15. This is a syndicated show, so it is on different networks all over the country. They each determine their own scheduling, so check your local listings on the above dates for time, channel and availability in your area. A second "Livin' Large" segment focusing on Soul City Cafe is currently scheduled to air over the weekend of Saturday, 1/25 and Sunday 1/26. We'll remind you again before that airs. Otherwise, keep checking the www.jeweljk.com calendar for updated information. ******************************************** ***JEWEL'S TOUR SECTION UPDATES To conclude our final week of activity at Jewel's Tour Section, it's time for another video clip. Since we're featuring some notable "show endings" as our focus this week, we continue in that vein. As anyone who caught Jewel with her band the past few years knows, "Who Will Save Your Soul" had become an improvisational vehicle for Jewel's voice as well as a lengthy jammed-out showcase for band members. It's come a long way from the short reggae-tinged acoustic ditty it began as. It's been interesting to hear Jewel reinvestigate the solo acoustic essence of this song as the usual show closer during the recent acoustic tour. Her voice continues to improve with age, and it's more clearly apparent in recent performances of this particular song than perhaps any other. This week's video clip takes you to the close of one of the most memorable nights of the tour in Lowell, Massachusetts on November 15th. You get a birds-eye view as she humorously discusses her initial reactions to hearing "Who Will Save Your Soul" on the radio for the first time in early 1995, followed by a particularly good version of it - much as it used to be. And if you haven't already, enjoy this week's audios from DC's DAR Constitution Hall when Jewel invited Jason Mraz to join her on another cool variation of "Who Will Save Your Soul," and the final song of her final 2002 tour show at the beautiful Civic Theater in Akron - "Angel Standing By." This week we are also featuring a mix of photos from our adventures in Connecticut, New York and the above mentioned show in Massachusetts, as well as an exclusive new interview with Soul City Cafe artist Stuart Mathis. You'll also find new tour audios of Stuart at this SCC location: http://www.soulcitycafe.com/artbeat/artbeat.asp?action=detail&aid=28 Every accurate setlist to the November tour is also now online. I really appreciate it. And to hear from Alan that Jewel has actually sung this song in the past. And I'll be going searching for the Odetta version, which sounds like the best bet yet, though my memory of the voice I heard way back then doesn't match Odetta's. But the years may have distorted my memory. Once I hear the Odetta version I'll know. And I'll let you all know too. But I really would love to hear Jewel sing it.
