In the past years, we have donated money for Higher Ground For Humanity and the Clearwater Project. I will assume that everyone is experiencing what I am now...lack of money! So I was thinking how we could help others without donating money. I think that there are two major was to do this. There has been a part on the donation section of HGH website where we could pledge money for the project, and make it known that it was from an EDA for Jewel for Christmas. I was thinking that instead of donating money this year, we donate time. With this I mean that we volunteer certain amounts of hours of which will we help out others in our neighboorhoods, cities, and our states. Our efforts in our individual lives can help to make a difference in the lives of others, and can have a "ripple" effect. Pledged hours could be used to help an elderly neighbor cut their grass, donating food to a food drive, organizing a mitten drive in your school, collecting toys for needing children from co-workers, or even something as simple as reading to a neighborhood child. I think that in this day and age that there are so many things that we can do to help others. Pledging our time will help to make the community what we want it to be. Then, ever few months, we can send in "progress reports" of what we've been doing to help participate in the hours that we have pledged. This things could later be assembled in a book and given to Jewel. I am willing to give 100% to this, since I think I would be a wonderful way to show Jewel how much we appreciate her. I would be more than willing to help this thing take off. If we think this is a good idea, let your voice be heard!!! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2002 02:14:34 EST From: JeWeLNuMbEr1FaN@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Xmas Gift Jewel From EDA's - Please Read That is a awesome idea! I love Jewel fans! I'm so happy that people think like that, or 1 person so far, I'm sure that there is others who feel the same way. It makes me feel good when i hear people wanting to donate or volunteer time for others :) I'm 100% in! ~Michele Trade Angelfood-http://hometown.aol.com/jewelnumber1fan/index.html *Jewel number 1 fan* JEWEL KICKS ASS ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2002 04:02:50 -0800 From: "Jewel Worshiper" Subject: [EDA] sound clips from jeweljk.com hey... i don't know about you guys but.. i have been trying to keep up w/ saving these files. The reason i got lucky this day was that i compiled jewel4s greatest tunes. I had helped her with some songs she sometimes forget to sing. So i walked from front row with my book to jewel and i gave that book with songs to jewel. she said well well so you are going to get organised on me, that is cool. And she paged thru the book and asked me if i wanted to hear a song. So i could request does anyone believe in love, from that moment jewel was more and more friendly and exciting. The most sexy artist i idolize asked me to come on stage and there i went on stage in front of a 3000 fan crowd. She started to sing the song and i went waving my head from right to left and the crowd loved me on stage and they liked it, so they laughed... and i dream that i want to marry jewel one day :) Bye Michiel - -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: owner-jewel@smoe.org [mailto:owner-jewel@smoe.org]Namens Jewel Worshiper Verzonden: woensdag 27 november 2002 20:45 Aan: Jewel@smoe.org Onderwerp: [EDA] london show 2-26-02 hi.. i was just wondering if anyone here was at this show???
