There are a lot of elements that go into making a good picture and I'm extremely partial to SLR cameras (big ones with big lenses)... can't stand compacts... I guess what the whole issue really boils down to is that a rule is a rule- you're not supposed to use a flash out of respect for the artist. The artist, the artist, the artist, not you or your need for a good picture :) Anyway, I wanted to mention a couple of other things to make this post relevant. At the Bloomington show, someone in the audience asked Jewel when she was going to get married... She seemed a little taken back, but ended up with a "Marriage is a scary thing" comment... a few from the audience cheered and she responded by saying something about there were still a few in the audience that were strong enough not to be married... If I had a recording, I could tell the list better... HINT HINT (if someone has it, i've got other shows to trade from this leg of the tour). I also want to toss in that at the Merrillville show Jewel confirmed that the album after the upcoming one will probably be an acoustic one... It went like this: After I asked "how's the new album," She said, "Ohhh, the new album... (something something something) "Well, How many of you like experimentation" " (laughs) Well then those 10 of you will like it.... (dont remember what else, then she says) I think my next album after that will probably be an acoustic album." That brought on some cheers... I'll try to get a transcript made up after I have a chance to transfer the show to CD. I like Jewel, but her music has only recently begun to rock. At least on her albums. I look forward to Jewel getting rock-ier, but POY & Spirit are definately not rock albums. I would probably put them in folk or easy listening... This Way is definately not a rock album. It's a pop album with some rock-y songs that don't get air time... I didn't see the issue of Rolling Stones, but I agree with the sentiment. I'm sick of pop stars. When will Rock and Roll Live again!?! Christy the Tattoed and Rock'n Angel Rock on!!
