If you check out the wireimage photos of the Rolling Stone fashion event Jewel attended just recently you'll see pics of her with Brett Ratner (director of Red Dragon and the upcoming Superman movies)..... Jewel was also seen at Brett Ratner's party for the opening of Superman. This is the SECOND time Jewel has been photographed at an event with Brett Ratner. She mentioned in the Atlantic Confidential Interview that Jewel was looking at other films apart from Wave - maybe she's doing a movie with Brett Ratner. I don't think the Lois Lane part has been cast in the Superman movie... if there is such a part in the new film. I'm not really familiar with the other superman movies and what happened to all the characters. As I said .. it's a nutty theory... but how cool would that be? Atlantic has allegedly fixed this problem. However, if you are still experiencing problems, it is advisable to download a free RealPlayer, which doesn't seem to be experiencing any problems. Here is the initial information for new JeweLink members who might have missed it. What are Jewel's plans for the rest of this year and next year? What's going on with her next album? When can we hope for a release? What is status on Jewel's acting career and the "Wave" movie project? What will her next book be like? When will she publish her next book? All good questions that most of you are probably wondering about. Rather than address these questions here, we'll let Jewel discuss these issues right before your very eyes! You can now watch and listen to Jewel address every one of these questions and quite a bit more, including her thoughts about Soul City Cafe, writing, performing, acting and recording, in a new in-depth video interview. Recorded on September 30th, "Atlantic Confidential: Off The Record with Lisa Robinson" is now online for your enjoyment, featuring this exclusive new Jewel interview. It's been a while since you've heard from us. So, we thought we'd get re-acquainted and bring you up to date on what we've been up to and what we're planning. For those of you who are new to the Jewel@smoe.org list, the EveryDay Angels Foundation (EDAF) was founded by Jewel list members and incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in November of 1997. Since then, we've held numerous beach cleanups, worked many food bank volunteer days, sponsored blood drives and hosted a number of benefit concerts. Over the years, we've partnered with some terrific groups including the National MS Society, America's Second Harvest Food Banks, and Higher Ground for Humanity. We're thrilled to introduce our latest partner organization, Heifer International, which has been doing amazing things since 1944. It's dedicated to giving a "hand up," not a handout, to impoverished families around the world. This unique organization raises pure bred and well cared for farm animals such as cattle, llamas, chickens, rabbits, and goats, and more unusual livestock such as earthworms and bees, and provides them to poor people all over the globe. After careful research has determined the type of animal that would be most beneficial to the family and is most suited for the climate of that particular region, the gift is provided. To us, the most impressive thing about this effort is that it requires the recipient to commit to "pass on the gift", by providing the livestock's offspring to their neighbors free of charge. This ensures that everyone helped in turn helps another. Much of the Heifer effort goes into educating the recipients on how to maximize their gain from the program. Heifer's efforts have resulted in the transformation of thousands of lives. Entire villages are often involved as Heifer also helps with water filtration systems, organizing cooperatives, and offering self-reliance and HOPE to the villagers. Learn more about Heifer, chosen by Worth Magazine as one of the 100 best U.S. charities, on their web site at www.heifer.org. The EDAF is now conducting a donation drive for Heifer International. We hope to be able raise $5,000, enough to donate a "Gift Ark" (2 or more each of 15 different animals) by February 14, 2003. Visit our web site (www.edaf.org) to add your donation to the Ark Fund. If you donate $30 or more, you will receive a Llama Angel figurine as a thank you gift (while supplies last). Look for further announcements from us about other upcoming projects, including a highway cleanup in Texas, Project Warmth Concerts, and more. And please stop by our website at www.edaf.org where you can see pictures and descriptions of past events as well as sign up for our new e-newsletter.
