I admit I didn't think the video was anything special but I didn't hate it and even if I did I wouldnt have made such a big deal out of it. It was his FIRST video and he had a fairly small budget so I think he did a pretty damn good job. I remember when the Break Me filmclip came out and everyone was confused about why the video didn't take off. I personally think it was because most people didn't get it. Most people just want to see simple filmclips with no big meaning, a bit of lovey stuff etc... and I'm guessing Jewel might have that same thought in mind or else she wouldn't have agreeed with the This Way video. I think one of the reasons that people are disappointed was because this video was a contest. And people were submitting concepts and then the person who won directed a video that really had no concept at all. But the song itself if kind of simple so maybe it works. I think you're right about Break Me. I don't think that many people understood it. I was a little disappointed in This Way but I didn't become a fan of Jewel for her videos. Her videos have never mattered to me. I think the reason everyone has been reacting the way they have is because Jewel is someone we all admire and we expect great things from her. She's different than the typical artist and we want her to show that to the rest of the world too.
